Good morning, happy HUMP day Wednesday! Getting things started early today as I have plans later on. Got up at 4am today and just stared at my alarm clock. Sigh…gone are the days of sleeping in until 9am.
Today’s Topic: Are you typically an early riser or a late sleeper? What time do you typically get up to start your day? As you have gotten older, have you found that you need more sleep or less sleep? Are you a light sleeper or a sound sleeper? Do you sleep through the night or get up at least once?
Yes, I am being nosy today! LOL I am a very light sleeper due to chronic pain. I typically go to bed around 11pm and usually up at 6am in the morning. I get up a few times every night to use the bathroom or to take pain medications. As I have gotten older, I found that I need less sleep than what I did when I was in my twenties.

Interesting topic. I have a hard time going back to sleep after waking up. Others can sleep at the drop of a hat!
Sleep? Define that word, please? But really, since I cut almost all added sugar out of my diet, including alcohol, I have that even thought I feel much better overall, my sleep patterns have changed a lot: I do pretty much sleep through the night, but unless my behemoth of a cat jumps on me in the bed before then, i don’t get up until 6am (used to be 5am). By 8 am I feel that I’ve lost the day already!
I adopted a dog last year. I am a pretty heavy sleeper (and if I fall asleep on the couch I am a pain to get to go to my bed), but my dog shakes her ears until I wake up (early in the morning) to get permission to get on the bed. It wakes me up and I think I have been more tired than normal.
I’m a deep sleeper and I like to sleep late. I have to set several alarms for myself.
I am a terrible sleeper. I think what the problem is is that there is an 8-lane superhighway right outside my bedroom window. The steady hum of traffic can be soothing, but when the motorcycles and semis roar by – that wakes me right up!
I am a pretty sound sleeper but these days getting to sleep is a problem too much stress. I have found that I need a full eight hours and when I don’t get that much I am a little cranky. I try to get up at 9am and try not to stay up too late. I usually get up to use the bathroom and least once per night. I try to stop drinking coffee or any soda early in the day.
I need a little less sleep than when I was young, but I still need at least 6 hours. I usually get up at 7:00, but I have not slept through the night in a very long time. I have gotten up at 5:30 , but 4:30 would be too early for me.
Congratulations to the 2 winners (although I don’t see any names!)
I can not have a very warm room, and I am a light sleeper and I have to wear ear plugs and an eye mask. I need to get exercise every day and get tired for me to get a good night’s sleep. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night because since I have gotten older, I have to use the bathroom. But, I need a lot of rest. at least 10 hours of rest a night. It is because I am a Home Health aide, and it makes me tired.
My sleep pattern varies. On the weekdays I starer at the alarm clock and curse it. ON the weekends though, I get up at the same time but without a problem. I know, I’m a weirdo!
I’m an early riser — every morning I wake up at 4:30, so I can have “me” time and can make lunches and breakfast for all kids and husband without worry/harry . But it also means I need to go to bed around 8 or 9 pm. But I like it and it works for me and my family
