A Healthier Sweet Treat: USANA Protein Cookies

March 1, 2014 by Classystaff

It doesn’t matter if you work in an office or at home, around 2:00 or 3:00 many of us get the sluggish feeling that makes us want to nap. The let down from lunch, I guess. Or maybe a siesta is calling! Since most of us cannot take a siesta, choosing a healthy snack often helps with that tired feeling. USANA Health Sciences, a leader in health and nutrition products, has come out with some new products that will help combat that afternoon slump. I was send a few to try out for you.
USANA Protein Cookies
I am not unlike most people. When I hit the wall, I want to reach for something sweet for instant energy. But often with that comes the crash after the sweet. So a healthier alternative is definitely needed. USANA introduces their new USANA Protein Snacks. Each product in this new lineup includes at least 11 grams of protein but no more than 180 calories. The new protein snacks are non-GMO, contain no trans fats, and come in three delicious flavors including Choco Chip, Peanutty Bliss, and Fudge Delite. I was sent several of the Choco Chip Protein Snacks to try out.

They come individually wrapped so they are easily carried and while they seem small they are very dense and loaded with flavor. They remind me of a protein bar that you can buy at the store, but these are smaller and a lot more dense. This one bar filled me up and I was not hungry again for hours!

What I liked the most is that there was no gritty, vitaminy taste to this bar. The texture reminds me a bit like super thick peanut butter with a coating of chocolate and some chips. It tasted pretty good – a lot better than some of those protein bars. Ack! Plus it was not overly sweet but just enough to have a good flavor. I also love the it is protein based, which is what I need the most.

I think these are a great alternative to other snack choices and the size is just right for a mid day snack. Perfect for my purse when I am between jobs. It may be something you want to try as well!

I think that these bars are delicious but I do find them a little sweet. It would be perfect if they could lessen the sugar intake. I love USANA products and am thrilled that they are Non-GMO. 🙂

The USANA Protein Snacks sound awesome. Just enough to give you that extra Boost you need to finish your Day. I could have used these for the last 3 years of my working Days. I had to drive back and fourth 90 miles each way to work..I had to get up at 3:30 am to get to my job that started at 6:30 am. I had a physically Hard job. That most of the people could not do! I sure could have used that extra Boost then.. I was never so Happy to retire after those 3 years. :0)~~ Thankyou for this very informative Review..Have a nice day!

I haven’t heard of these before nor noticed them. I’ve been trying to up my protein since I’m not eating meat much at all, and cookies are a fun way to help that along! I’ll have to look for these and give them a try!

I’d like to try the peanutty one. Better for me than reaching for the Girl Scout cookies.

This sounds like the perfect snack for my dieting husband – he is always hungry and if I can get him to eat something with protein mid-afternoon that would be great.

I have never heard of this brand, but it does have a lot of protein in it . It sounds like a good healthy alternative and you said that the bar was very filling. I like that it is not too sweet.

They look delicious. My daughter has to get in more protein and hates most of the bars and shakes out there. She wants a good sweet treat. This looks perfect. Decadent and protein filled. She loves cookies. What a nice alternative!

These protein bars are the greatest thing! When my kids are hungry, we are on the go ( or not), and they ask for something sweet; I give them one of these bars, they love them!! They think is candy, I know it is not, but they don’t 😉 These bars are the perfect replace for cookies, pretzels and other kind of snack that are hight in sugar. They are perfect fit for kids and adults too. Buen provecho!
