I love spring, don’t you? In the west, we get it a lot earlier than many of the other areas of the country. By February everything is budding and the bees are busy pollinating. By early March, all of the bulbs start popping out of the dirt with beautiful spring flowers! I love seeing what will come through.
I have blooming plants and bushes but I have never gotten around to planting bulbs in my own yard although I think about it during the fall sometimes. But a few of my neighbors and one of friends have bulbs planted that produce gorgeous daffodils, irises and more. I love irises the most. They have always been a favorite of mine and I used them in the bouquets when I got married and the color of my bridesmaids dresses matched the deep purple of the iris. So pretty! Yes, I got married in the spring. In fact, we will be celebrating 20 years next week… hard to fathom!
Do you have a favorite spring flower? Do you have bulbs in your yard and if so, what are they blooming now?
I do not have any new bulbs in my yard right now. I expect I shall see daffodils in a month. Right now it is still too cold and staying that way for several days.
I haven’t planted any bulbs here at this house. I have always loved tulips! I need to buy some for our new place! Congrats to all the winners!
We don’t have our own garden, but in the massive fields around our seaside home we get oodles of poppies in the spring – gorgeous!
Congrats to the winners!
I saw my first daffodil yesterday on the first day of Spring.
I like all flowers, but do enjoy the lily of the valley in my neighbors yard.
I love pretty flowers, I need some in my flower beds but since I can’t do the yard now I don’t have any.
My very favorite Spring flower is the daffodil. I love them sooo much I always smile when I see them all over this time of year. I have three bunches of them right now in the center of the kitchen table. I love all the flowers but the daffodils are my very favorite.
Congratulations to the winner. Happy Spring to everyone and have a great weekend.
Right now I have crocuses and daffodils blooming. We also have tulips, thrift, marigolds, lilies, and a butterfly bush and a yellow bell bush. I like the things you can plant and forget about 🙂
I am not one for gardening. My mom used to make us pull weeds as punishment. But I love to see tulips and daffodils.
