Barone Fini Pinot Grigio 2012 Wine

I have not had the pleasure of doing any wine reviews lately, so I was happy to be able to try out a bottle of a brand that I had not had the chance to try before. A member of the Deutsch Family brand of wines, the Barone Fini Pinot Grigio 2012 Wine promised to be something that I would enjoy trying as I am partial to white wines and sweeter wines.

The Barone Fini Pinot Grigio Wine is from northeastern Italy and is sourced from completely from old vines that are hand harvested and hand sorted for only the best fruits. I was looking forward to trying this out and I planned a nice dinner with roasted chicken so that I could enjoy a glass with my meal. Waiting for it to chill was my biggest issue and thankfully I did not have long to wait.

From the very first pour, I could tell that this wine was going to be an enjoyable experience. It was a beautifully clean with no overwhelming flavor of one kind or another. The balance was perfect and while I personally would not call this a sweet wine, it has enough sweetness for those that prefer that over a drier wine. What is remarkable to me is that this wine seems perfectly blended. I love that there is a subtle fruit overtone, yet nothing takes over. Plus it is not overly acidic and it finishes with a clean taste.

This wine was surprising to me because I was expecting a sweeter wine and it was so mellow tasting. I really enjoyed it with my meal and it balanced my chicken wonderfully. It would taste great with any lighter meals such as fish or vegetarian. This would be a fantastic wine to cook with as well and seeing how it is only about $12 or so, I think that this is a winner!

The Barone Fini Pinot Grigio 2012 Wine is one for you to look for if you like mellow, beautifully balanced yet satisfying wines at a great price.
