Abner The Invisible Dog Movie DVD
Finding good quality entertainment that the entire family will enjoy can often be a difficult task. Here in our home we look for movies that all ages will enjoy and ones that have a cute or important story line.
Abner The Invisible Dog is being released onto DVD starting on March 11th, 2014. This movie stars: David Deluise, David Chokachi and Nancy Sullivan.
Synopsis: When science nerd Chad Sheppard gets a chemistry set for his 13th Birthday, little does he know he’s in for a much bigger surprise. While experimenting with the kit, his best friend, Abner, a big furry sheepdog, suddenly starts talking before vanishing into thin air!
Chad already has enough problems fighting off two bullies who want to wreck his chances with Sophie, the cute girl next door. Now, he has to hide an invisible, talking dog, who’s a bit of a wise guy from his parents and figure out how to get everything back to normal, all while outwitting a pair of clumsy crooks who are determined to steal the top-secret formula that gave Abner his super-spy powers.
With his parents out of the house, Chad and his canine sidekick have to defeat the bad guys, get the girl and save the day!
Our Thoughts: I invited my two nephews (ages 13 and 16) and my 4 1/2 year old grand daughter over for a movie date. I popped the popcorn and we all sat down to view this movie. The movie runs for approximately 89 minutes and is in full color.
From start to finish, it has a very cute and adventurous story line. From a 5 year old up through an adult would certainly enjoy it. Abner is the cutest dog I have seen hit the films in a long time…absolutely adorable! Chad is one smart cookie and can think on the “fly” and come up with some great solutions to his current problems.
Even though the film talks about the two bullies that bother Chad, they really don’t go into that dramatically at all. The story line is really about Chad and Abner with the bullies and the girl next door thrown in for good measure.
Overall, it is a really cute film and we all enjoyed watching it. Grand daughter did enjoy the film but she got a little bored with it towards the end (her age group) but the two older children sat still and were totally enthralled watching it.
