When you visit the Learning Resources web site…you can shop as a Parent or as a Teacher. Furthermore, you can shop by age group, category, by brand or by subject. I love how user-friendly the Learning Resources site is!
You will find activity sets & books, construction sets, active learning & play sets, discovery & exploration sets, electronic toys, games, puzzles, water & sand toys and a whole lot more! Everything on their site is extremely well-made and affordable.
Brand new for 2014 is the Learning Resources Stacker Crackers Opposites Game. This game is for ages 5 and up and includes the storage box, instruction booklet and 100 cards. You will need 2-4 players.
How to Play: Place the cracker box on the table. Take a card out of the box and read it aloud. Then, say the opposite of that word. If you were correct, keep the card and start making your cheese and cracker stack. If you were incorrect, place the card in a discard pile. Watch out though, if you draw a “Stack Attack!” card, place your stack and the “Stack Attack!” card in the discard pile and on your next turn you will begin a new stack. You will have to start over again if your stack falls down too! Players keep taking turns until the cracker box is empty. The player with the tallest stack at the end wins the game!
Our Thoughts: The princess loves coming over to our home and playing games with us. We are a traditional board game and educational game type of family and don’t permit her to play video games…at least not at the age of 4 1/2 years old. Way too may preschooler’s are parked in front of video game consoles or on computers playing games these days and I don’t permit that nonsense in my home with her.
We sat down last week and got out this new game from Learning Resources. The Princess is 4 1/2 but is well-advanced for age. Matter of fact, she is already attending her second year of full day Pre-K School. This game is fun to play and it teaches her how to find opposite meanings & things. She is good at the “similar” but isn’t as well versed on opposites. This game is really helping her with that and she is having fun while learning!
As a grandparent, I appreciate the compact size of this game. It can be packed in her overnight bag, taken with us when we travel and she even took it in her backpack to school. If you are limited on storage space or travel a lot, this is a great game to pick up!
You can purchase the Learning Resources Stacker Crackers – Picture Alphabet Game directly from Amazon for a great price!
