Good morning! Welcome to February Friday the 21st! Yes, the countdown has begun to Spring and tomorrow begins another weekend! We will be close to 52 degrees this afternoon and finally we are seeing some melting of the snow and ice. We have been in a deep freeze since early January and I am ready to get rid of this white stuff for good!
Today’s Topic: How many of you have thought about your Spring and/or Summer Vacation plans? Do you typically take a Spring Break vacation and/or a Summer Vacation every year? When you go on vacation do you always return to a favorite spot or do you visit some place new every year? Do you love to travel or do you prefer to stay close to home?
We love to travel and try to travel as often as we can. We have a small beach condo and go down there a few times every year. We also love to explore our state and the surrounding states on day trips or weekend trips. For 2014…we have 4 major trips planned and 4 minor ones, so it is going to be a busy year for us.

My husband and I are headed to Crete next week or our annual 3-month Spring stay – I will be doing my TNR on stray and feral cats and researching my book on Mediterranean food. No ideas for the Summer yet though.
Congrats to the winners!
I don’t have any vacations planned this year. The last two vacations have been trips that I’ve won, the last one to Orlando last October. I just heard last night that our chorus will probably be traveling to Seattle a year from now and I’m looking forward to that trip.
Congratulations to the 2 winners.
We are living on a tight budget and haven’t vacationed in a while.
We always enjoy gong to a park when the weather is nice. You have a nice busy year planned and I am sure you will enjoy it.
I can’t remember the last time I took a vacation it has been several several years. I do love to travel too I like to go to far away places. I also like to explore around our area too. I can not wait for Spring it is my most favorite time of year. I love the longer days, warmer weather, blossoming trees, flowers and baby animals it is the best time of the year.
Thank you for the smoobee; I can’t wait for my granddaughter to try it!
We used to take yearly vacations to Beaver Lake in Arkansas. Beautiful, clear lake and not as crowded as many of them get. We haven’t done it in a long time due to money and time restrictions. Last year we did travel to Mammoth Cave for a long weekend. This year we are picking up our grandkids and bringing them to our house for a week. It will be a fun, crazy vacation. I think we will need a vacation after it. 🙂
Can’t wait to hear and see all of your travels. Have fun!
We like to go camping too. We canceled our camping trip last year due to my hip surgery but it is back on for this year over the July 4th holiday. We are taking a small RV this year for that trip and pretty pleased that I will be “reviewing” it for 5 days. It even has a shower & flushing toilet! Yay!
How fun! I’m glad you are able to go this year. Do you mind saying where you like to go camping. We used to go to Beaver Lake in Arkansas by Eureka Springs.
We like to go camping up to the Pocono Mountains and sometimes we go camping right outside Gettysburg and then tour the battlefields while we are there. Do you ever get up this way? If so, I will treat you to dinner 🙂
That is so sweet. You brightened my night. 🙂 I haven’t been but would love to go. I will let you know if I get to plan it soon.
Congratulations to the winners!
Undortunately, we have to liva and vacation on a rather tight budget. Furtunately for us however, we love to go camping and be outdoors. Last year we went on 4 camping trips: 1 long one for spring break, 2 birthday trips and a random camping trip. Since gas prices are still pretty high, we usually stay in-state, but Texas is plenty big with losts of beaches, woods and parks.
We will be leaving for our big springbreak trip in a couple of week and I could not be more excited! This winter was too long and I got a bad case of cabin fever!
Due to obligations/responsibilites here, I haven’t been able to make any trips in the past few years….so I have a good time reading about other people’s vacations and enjoying all the pix they post. It’s really nice to see all the photos, it makes me feel like I was there, too!
We usually explore our state and take one big trip every year. No idea where this year yet!
