Good morning everyone! Welcome to Monday, February 10th, 2014. Valentine’s Day is later this week and lucky for me…it falls close to the weekend which means more romantic fun for me.
Today’s Topic: Do you and your significant other have romantic pet names (nicknames) for one another? If so, what are they? Do you only call each other these nicknames in private or do you call each other these names all of the time?
When hubby and I started date I was 16 years old. He used to tell me all of the time that I looked “Ravishing” when he would pick me up for our dates. Within a few months he was calling me “Ravish” and that romantic nickname has stuck with me for 30 years now. I always told him he was as sweet as a “honey bee” and over the years that name turned into just plain “bee”. He is the king of my hive!

I made peach cobbler for some college friends and they called me peaches after that.
That is so sweet. I like both of those. It can be really cute when couples have pet names…used appropriately. They can get overdone as we often see in movies…to the dramatic point. My husband calls me sweetheart. My son, when he gets frustrated or really wants to push a point with his wife, he calls her dear in just this tone. It’s really interesting the different things we call people in different situations.
My pet names are to corny for me to share. I think it is cute what your pet names are for you and your husband. I like Valentine’s Day, and I hope to get something nice!! I hope your weather is not too bad!
Congratulations to the 2 winners.
Although we have pet names for each other they only seem to be used when we give each other cards. I am not sure why that happened. I love the story of how you pet names evolved.
