Movie Review: Romeo and Juliet
How many of you are fans of the classic Romeo and Juliet story? Personally, that story has always been near & dear to my heart even though I am not a sappy type of gal. With that said, I want to give you some information about the new updated & modern version that I think many of you will like.
Romeo and Juliet was just released on Blu-Ray and DVD on February 4th, 2014.

My Thoughts: When I was younger I used to love to read romance books and watch romance movies. I guess like most young girls, I loved to fantasize about my own future husband and the romance that we would share. As I got older, reality set in! From time to time now…I will sit down and watch a good romance flick if I think it will be good.
Recently I was given a complimentary copy of the newly released Romeo and Juliet to watch and I decided to invite my BFF Renee over to watch it with me. She loves sappy movies and I knew this one would be right up her alley. That girl can read a dozen romance novels in just a week and trust me, she works full-time outside of her home!
The movie stars Hailee Steinfeld who plays Juliet and Douglas Booth who plays Romeo. Damian Lewis, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Ed Westwick and Paul Giamatti also star in the film. I had never heard of any of these actors until I watched this movie and I have to admit, they did a great job with the parts that they played. It is nice to see some fresh talents hitting the films.
Overall, I thought this modernized version was pretty good. There were a few small parts where the film seemed to lag and got a little boring but overall it was entertaining to see. I think if you enjoy classic love stories, you would enjoy this modern take on it.
Disclosure: I was provided with a complimentary copy of this film as a member of the Fox Home Entertainment Insiders Club. I did not receive any compensation and my thoughts & words are 100% my own.
