Must-Have Small Kitchen Appliances

January 27, 2014 by Shelly

crocusflowersGood morning everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! I was pretty happy that it was bitter cold outside (for once) because two venues that I needed to go review…closed due to the cold weather! Yay! That meant I only had to go out for 2 quick reviews and back inside my warm & comfy home!

Today’s Topic: I was cleaning my kitchen yesterday and hubby remarked that I have way too many small kitchen appliances. Well, I admit that I do…but I also love to cook and bake! I need all of those appliances but he swears that I don’t! Sigh! Anyway, he asked me a question and it went like this… “Honey, if you could ONLY have one of your small kitchen appliances, which one would it be?”

Geesh, Only one? Are you kidding me? After some thought I came up with an answer but couldn’t decide on only one. I did narrow it down though to three: My Slow Cooker (crockpot), my Blender and my Toaster Oven. So, I would like to hear from all of you…what is your MUST HAVE small kitchen appliance?

I would not get rid of any of my appliances. I guess the one I like the most is the food processor, followed by the kitchen Aid mixer (and all is attachments) and microwave. If I had to get rid of one it might be the coffee grinder (I’d use the food processor instead)

We have a lot also, but we use our small hand mixer a good deal

Only one? No way! I could do without the yogurt maker or the Belgian waffle maker or even my electric kettle, but you’d have to pry my toaster oven from my cold, dead hands. Oh, and my microwave, I use each of them every day, usually more than once.

My spouse loves to indulge my kitchen habit, because he reaps the benefits when I make him good food. The last cool thing he got me was a bright red KitchenAid hand mixer, which I love, and he loves the cakes and other goodies I’ve been making with it.

It’s a tie between my crock pot and my blender. I also love the griddle I got from my in laws for Christmas.

For us it would have to be our sandwich maker. We use it at least once a week and it is just such a great tool to make quick easy warm sandwiches without making a mess. It may sound like an odd appliance to choose but it has been a godsent for us.

I guess it would be my good old fashioned toaster. I love my bagels and toast smeared with butter or jelly or cream cheese or whatever.

Wow! You have to have all the kitchen appliances. I start off thinking toaster then you go to crock pot and microwave. Those are my big three. My daughter loves the toaster oven and during the summer we use the blender for smoothies and fruit drinks though. All of them are important and have their uses. I could get rid of his coffee pot but that would be his must have. 🙂 We just need/want them all!

Since I really would love to have a professional chef that would prepare each meal for me, I’d have to say my favorite small kitchen appliance would be my Kuerig. I would struggle without it. Secondly, would probably be my toaster oven, as my teenager probably wouldn’t be able to live without it. It’s big enough to cook a small pizza…and we all know how teens feel about pizza!

There are a lot of activities I could get away with using a manual tool (like a shredding box instead of the food processor), but I could never give up my stick hand blender!

I would have to say that my Crock Pot would be the Small Kitchen appliance that I can not live without! I cook so many things in the winter with this appliance.
