I love action films and my husband enjoys comedy. It is rare that we find a movie that we will both enjoy…until now. This movie is a combination of a great action flick with some humor thrown in. On top of that, it stars two of my husband’s favorite actors: Robert De Niro and Tommy Lee Jones who always plays a great “cop” role in many of the movies he has done, like U.S. Marshals.
What is really nice about this mobster and cop movie is the strong role that the women play in the movie. It is always nice to see a few leading ladies involved in a good mobster movie, don’t ya think? These ladies do a great job at making the movie come to life with great action scenes and some humor thrown into the mix.
Overall, we thought it was a great movie and we are going to watch it again when my BF and her husband come for a visit next weekend. If you love crime movies and mobster movies with strong leading actor character parts, you will enjoy this one that was recently released onto DVD and Blu-ray.
Synopsis: The Family
Academy Award® Winners Robert De Niro and Tommy Lee Jones star in this action comedy from executive producer Martin Scorsese and acclaimed director Luc Besson. A Mafia boss and his family are relocated to a sleepy town in France under the Witness Protection Program after snitching on the mob. Despite Agent Stansfield’s (Tommy Lee Jones) best efforts to keep them in line, Fred Blake (Robert De Niro), his wife Maggie (Michelle Pfeiffer), and their children Belle (Dianna Agron) and Warren (John D’Leo), can’t help resorting to old habits by handling their problems the “family” way. Chaos ensues as their former Mafia cronies try to track them down, and scores are settled in the unlikeliest of settings.

Great action flicks that have comedy in them are rare to find, so this is a movie that I would like to watch. I am curious how the actors interact with the people in the foreign setting – other than reverting to old habits.
I wonder if the Witness Protection Program can actually relocate people to a different country.
