How many of you went out to see ENOUGH SAID when it was playing in the movie theater? For those who saw it, what did you think about it? Unfortunately, I had just had hip surgery so we didn’t get to see it until now!!!
ENOUGH SAID was just released on blu-ray and DVD on January 14th, 2014 and I was sent a complimentary DVD to review for all of you. I love reviewing movies, so here we go!
This movie stars James Gandolfini, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Catherine Keener as they shine in this heartwarming comedy that A.O. Scott of The New York Times calls “a small miracle of a movie.”
Synopsis: Divorced mom Eva (Louis-Dreyfus) may be falling for Albert (Gandolfini), a sweet, funny, like-minded divorcé. But as their relationship blossoms, Eva befriends Marianne (Keener), who’s always complaining about her ex-husband. When Eva realizes that Albert is the target of Marianne’s rants, she begins to question her own perceptions about first impressions and second chances.
My Thoughts: I admit upfront that I am NOT a huge fan of comedy in any sort of way. With that said, comedy is the genre of movies that my hubby prefers to watch. He is a BIG fan of James Gandolfini’s work so he was super excited to finally sit down and watch this movie with me.
I thought the movie had a “cute” story line but it was similar to some of those I used to read in romance novels back in the day. (I don’t read romance novels any more). James Gandolfini did an excellent job acting in this movie and I was surprised that he did so well in it considering it was comedy and I usually see him playing dramatic roles.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a comedy actress and she shines in those types of roles. However, I am not a fan of hers and didn’t really enjoy her in this movie to be honest with all of you. Hubby had a different opinion and that she was fantastic in the film.
The story line started out a little slow for me but about halfway through it picked up and I got more interested in it. There were a few parts for me that were really funny but there were other parts that I thought were just plain dumb and boring…predictable.
I won’t tell you if the two of them end up together or not as that would be a spoiler and I don’t do spoilers here on our blog. I will tell you that I personally didn’t get into this movie as much as my hubby did. Please remember though, comedy is just not my thing. He is a comedy lover and he gave the movie a big two-thumbs up.

I enjoy comedies and I think that ( like your husband) I would enjoy this movie. Now that he DVD is out which also usually contains enjoyable extras I can purchase it to watch the movie.
I think that I would like to see this movie. It looks like James Gandolfini is really good in this movie. I did not know that it was a comedy. So sad that he died so soon! James is a great actor!
This looks like a good movie it sad that he passed he was a great actor.
I’m glad your husband enjoyed the movie. I haven’t seen it. I do like comedies so I might get this movie from the library.
