Good Morning Everyone! Thank gosh it is Friday, finally! We have some light snow this morning and ice. Ugh, so stinking tired of this winter weather now. We have been getting hit with it every 2-3 days since early December. I feel like I live in Alaska or something when I don’t!
Today’s Topic: As a mom (or a woman) how involved are you in politics? Do you keep abreast of what is going on in the political world and do you ever get involved? Have you ever gotten into a political debate with a man?
Yesterday I had to go out to a local business meeting for a new job I am working. While I was sitting in the lounge waiting for the meeting to start a guy came over & sat down beside. He immediately started talking politics to me (about the New Jersey Governor) which is a hot button issue around here. We border the state of New Jersey and we have dual residences in PA and in NJ. We keep ourselves informed on both states at all times. Well, I disagreed with this idiot but kept the conversation respectful and civil. He however, started slinging mud at me, calling me a stupid dumb B*tch and then said females should stay in the home and out of the political world. WTH? Oh my gosh! After our business meeting I saw him again out in the parking lot and lets just say that my temper flew! How dare he call me foul names and tell me that woman are stupid & don’t know crap about politics? I spent a few minutes putting him in his place and then walked away. Some men are just ignorant!
Congrats to the winners!
I listen to the BBC on NPR at night and one of their stories was about the traffic jam and the governor.
It is always interesting to me as to which US stories make The World News.
I stay pretty current on politics & world news and I’ve worked on several campaigns.
Congratulations to the winners!!
I try to stay up to date with politics and do not mind discussing it with the right people in the right environment. However, I generally try to avoid discussing both politics and religion as I don’t think much good can come from doing so.
Congratulations to the 2 winners.
I am sorry that you had such an unpleasant incident at the lounge with an obvious chauvinist. There are still too many people who are bigoted or anti- anything with which they don’t agree or understand. At least you told him off in the parking lot. On the political front I personally believe that Governor Christie knew about the entire incident and simply sacrificed his aides to try to change public opinion. He want to have his way and that justifies it to him – until he gets caught.
