Mercy Snow by Author Tiffany Baker Book Review

Mercy Snow by Author Tiffany BakerOne of my New Year’s resolutions for 2014 is to set aside time for more reading. When I was a teenager and young adult I used to read a lot. The past few years I have had difficulty in finding free time to read but this year is going to be different!

So, to start the new year off right, I got a book review for all of you today and the information about it is below.

Title: Mercy Snow
Author: Tiffany Baker
From: Hachette Book Group
ISBN: 978-1-4555-1273-7
Genre: Fiction

Book Synopsis: In the tiny town of Titan Falls, New Hampshire, the paper mill dictates a steady rhythm of life. But one day, a tragic bus accident sets two families on a course of destruction, irrevocably altering the lives of everyone in its wake.

When June McAllister, the wife of the local paper mill owner, discovers a dark secret about the crash that threatens to upend her picture-perfect life, she will do anything to cover it up. But the recently arrived Snow family, a group of itinerant ne’er-do-wells with old links to the town, has different ideas, especially Mercy Snow, whose brother is blamed for the accident. She will do anything to save him.

When a skeleton is discovered on the Snows’ land not far from the crash site, the stakes of the accident grow higher. Desperate to protect herself, June tries to drive the Snows out of town, but she underestimates the strength of young Mercy Snow, and the ties that bind. As the two women move closer to the truth of the crash, some of those strings are broken, new ones formed and Titan Falls finds itself leaving history behind as it moves into an uncertain future.

My Thoughts: I love a good fictional book that includes a lot of intrigue and mystery. This book is that and a whole lot more! The author really goes in-depth with the characters and makes you feel like they are real people in your own hometown…people that you would know.

June McAllister is a very interesting character in the book. At times you feel her pain and at other times you are angry with her. I think she is often misunderstood and would go to any lengths to protect her family’s history which affects her in some terrible ways.

Mercy Snow is a character that I was really able to relate to. A strong young woman with strong convictions who doesn’t give up without a fight. This woman really has some strong willpower and desire to set things right.

This is one of those page-turner type’s of books! Once you get going reading it…it is hard to put it down. There are a lot of twists, turns and depth to this book and it is hard to not want to skip to the end to find out what happens. Trust me, I was getting inpatient but I read it cover to cover and glad that I didn’t skip ahead.

I am not going to tell you how this story ends but the path that the characters go through to get to that ending is one full of mystery, heartbreak, tears and suspense. Chilling a times!
