Learning Resources New Sprouts Garden Fresh Salad SetToday I would like to introduce you to the company called Learning Resources who makes a wide variety of educational toys and games for children. When you visit the Learning Resources web site…you can shop as a Parent or as a Teacher. Furthermore, you can shop by age group, category, by brand or by subject. I love how user-friendly the Learning Resources site is!

You will find activity sets & books, construction sets, active learning & play sets, discovery & exploration sets, electronic toys, games, puzzles, water & sand toys and a whole lot more! Everything on their site is extremely well-made and affordable.

For my review I was sent the New Sprouts Garden Fresh Salad Set from Learning Resources to check out for all of you. This particular “play food” set is made for children ages 2 and up. It is one those sets that comes with a LOT of pies, 38 to be exact and that is one of the reasons we love it!

Learning Resources New Sprouts Garden Fresh Salad Set

The set includes: 1 large salad bowl, salad tongs, 4 small salad bowls, 4 cucumber slices, 4 carrot crinkles, 8 pepper rings, 12 lettuce leaves and 4 tomato slices. Everything comes nicely packaged in a cardboard storage box.

This set is perfectly sized for little hands and is made out of a hard, but light-weight durable plastic. When the pieces get dirty, just wash them off with a little liquid soap & water.

The Princess has a play kitchen and loves playing “house” with her friends. Right now her play kitchen happens to be in storage while we paint our guest room, so in about 2 weeks…we will move everything back into her room.

Anyway, she has been playing with this new salad set almost daily since we received it. She often adds other “play food” items to it when she is playing with it. I love how brightly colored the pieces are and everything fits nicely inside the bowls. The little salad tongs are absolutely adorable!

My only suggestion for this product would be to include 4 little plastic forks. Princess has a lot of them from her other play sets…but I think it would of been nice to include them with this set since no one eats salad with their fingers. Just in case another little kid didn’t have any in their stash like she does.

Other than that…we are giving this set 9 1/2 stars out of 10 stars on our rating scale. It is a wonderful play food set that gives kids a lot of creative playtime use! Perfectly sized for little hands and perfectly sized for most play kitchens. Really cute and the princess is really enjoying it!

    Passionate about those that are to be in the future; the item I have chosen would be a tool used by many children and that is the Minute Math Electronic Flash Card™! At the same time I would love the opportunity to win and give just about any gift, the problem lies in that I am disabled and always dreamed of making a device that would aid those with disabilities.     We have a new play kitchen from Christmas that we are trying to fill up with food, so although I like all the play food sets I see, my favorite it the Bake It! Set. I love that it has cupcakes AND cookies!

    I like all of the pretend food (the sandwich making kit). I work with kids who have feeding issues and have picky eaters at home, so pretend food is used a lot at home and at work.

    My daughter always pretends to “make a salad” with random toys from around the house, so it would be wonderful to have actual salad toys for her! I also really like the Smart Snacks® Counting Cookies™ from Learning Resources- cute and educational.
