Good morning everyone! Brrrr! It is another bitterly cold day here in Pennsylvania. I am so tired of these sub zero and single digit temperatures now!
Today’s Topic: When it comes to Valentine’s Day cards…do you prefer to give homemade or store bought cards? Do you prefer to receive homemade or store bought cards? What about the kids?
Every year I make a homemade card for my husband, daughter and grand daughter. Hubby is not crafty so he always buys me a card, although I would prefer for him to get crafty and make me one. When DD was in first grade she spent 2 1/2 weeks making homemade cards for her classmates. They teased her so bad & made fun of her “creative abilities” that we always did store bought cards for classroom exchange after that. Kids are so mean and the holiday is way too commercialized now that I just don’t like it!
I think that it is the thought put into the card -either in writing it, designing it or adding to it that shows the care and love of the person doing it. I used to make cards but now I usually just add to store bought ones.
My husband and I don’t “do” Valentine’s Day because we consider every day a day for sharing and expressing our love. So, we don’t make or buy cards.
To me, it’s the thought put into the card. I’m not crafty, but I look and read many cards before choosing. I’m careful that the wording and meaning is what I want to say. I underline specifics. My daughter likes photography and photo editing and is always making very meaningful cards. Both are nice to have. I just want emotion and thought behind it.
Thank you so much for the flashlight–I sure can use it. I love hand making Valentine’s cards and use stickers and stamps, glitter, and more! I’ve been pinning ideas on Pinterest and love to see what others do with cards as well.
I like getting cards from the store. I am not crafty, but I am sure that a homemade card is nice to make and give. I just like some of the store bought cards.
