Good morning everyone! Well, we survived the latest winter storm. I am glad it is over with!!! We lost power several times yesterday and had about 6″ of snow here. With the wind chill we got down to -11 degrees last night and baby…it is COLD out there this morning. Hubbs and I were up all night, poor guy had to go into work this morning & I am hoping to crawl into bed at lunchtime today for a nap. I can’t think when I am this tired at all.
Today’s Topic: What are some of your favorite comfort foods? For me, I think of delicious meatloaf, baked mac & cheese with a crumb topping, 7 cheese lasagna, banana coffee ice cream, just about anything milk chocolate and a big bowl of homemade chicken potpie. Those would be some of my top favorite comfort foods. How about you?
A belated congratulations to the 2 winners.
My favorite comfort foods are homemade chicken soup- which I made yesterday and always dark chocolate. I also like beef stew, pizza, roast or fried chicken, mac n cheese, lasagna, ice cream. spinach cheese quiche or souffle, raw baby carrots. ice cream
My comfort food is a classic: peppermint stick ice cream with dark chocolate hot fudge. Always comforts me, even if I don’t need comforting.
We also love a nice piping hot bowl of chili, maybe even with Mac and cheese. Baked potatoe soup also always seems to warm body and soul. There is a Gernab dish called Schmorkohl that is truly my favorite food. It is boiled cabbage leaves with ground beef in its own sauce. I does not look or smell good but I love it.
Congrats to the winners.

I like Chicken and Dumplings. I also like Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. I like Gooey Chocolate Chip cookies and good soft banana bread with nuts. I could go on and on about my favorite comfort foods.
My number one is mac & cheese – the gooier, the better. I too like it with somewhat of a crispy top. Other food that comfort me are pizza, fried chicken, ice cream, and of course, chocolate! (Ever notice that no one ever lists things like kale, bean sprouts, or radishes as comfort food? LOL!)
