Fresh Sandwich Recipe Ideas from Our Readers

January 6, 2014 by Shelly

Fresh Sandwich Recipe IdeasLast week we asked our Two Classy Chics blog readers to give us some new ideas on making sandwiches. We collected those ideas and have put them all into this blog post to share with everyone.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed with their fresh sandwich ideas! Let’s get started!

* FAT BLT with Danish blue cheese, garlic nuggets and mayonnaise.

* Holiday Guacamole Wrap – Take a bit of chopped onion (1/4 cup) and a handful (1/2 cup) of fresh cranberries and pulse them in the food processor for a bit until chunky. Then add some salt, pepper and one large avocado and pulse until guacamole-ish – you want some avocado chunks. Split a whole-wheat pita in half so you have 2 rounds, dump half of the avocado mix on each round evenly and roll up.

* Tuna Fish Wrap with tuna salad, finely chopped pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and shredded cheese.

* Battered Fish Fillet Wrap – Chop up the cooked beer battered fish fillet and place it on the wrap. Toss shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, dice onions, sliced olives and shredded cheese on top. Roll it up into a wrap.

* Meatloaf & Cheese Sandwich – Slice up your cooked & cold meatloaf and place it onto a bun. Top with sliced American, Provolone or Swiss cheese, chopped olives and chopped pickles. Use ketchup, mustard or barbecue sauce as a condiment.

* Turkey Sandwich on Raisin Bread – Spread a little butter onto slices of raisin bread and then layer on your turkey slices.

* Ultimate Turkey & Cheese Wrap – 2 slices of oven roasted turkey, 2 slices of honey baked turkey, American cheese, Swiss cheese & Colby Jack Cheese, lettuce, tomato, diced onion with honey mustard dressing drizzled on top. Wrap in a tortilla.

* Egg Salad Sandwich – The old stand by is always a favorite. Add diced dill pickles and a bit of pickle juice for a creamy tasty sandwich.

* Fresh Fruit – Try mixing in fresh blueberries, raspberries, grapes, cranberries or strawberries to your traditional chicken salad & tuna fish salad sandwiches. The chopped fresh fruit kicks up the flavor!

* Condiment Suggestions – Trying adding guacamole, ranch dressing, honey mustard dressing, gourmet flavored mustard, hummus, barbecue sauce, flavored ketchup, tartar sauce, horseradish and various fruit preserves on top.

I read these ideas last week and am glad that you have a lot of different condiment suggestions. However you did not add any vegetarian only sandwiches. Sometimes fresh spinach, avocado, chopped onions and tomatoes are enough in a wrap.
