Easy Old Fashioned Meatloaf Recipe
There is some thing about good old comfort food, just like mom used to make. Back when dinner was at 6 and you better not be late. The kitchen had those amazing smells that you never forgot. Meatloaf is one of those comfort foods that we try and capture the essence of mom’s cooking. I have been playing around with a recipe for old fashioned meatloaf for a few months now and I think this one has a great balance of ingredients that gives a nice balance of flavors. I do not like my meatloaf with a hundred different ingredients and definitely no peppers. This mixture came out moist and with good flavor. I really enjoyed it, my hubby said it was just Okay. You be the judge.
- 1 lb ground Beef
- 1 lb ground Turkey
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 1/4 cup Ketchup
- 3/4 cup Oats – quick cook or regular is fine
- 1/4 cup minced Onion
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- Set oven to 350
- Place meat in a medium bowl. Add in all ingredients and mix together completely.
- Roll the mixture into a loaf pan or form a loaf on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
- Bake for 1 hour. Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes and slice to serve
