My mother in law used to live in Oregon and when she was there we would travel up to see her once a year or so. As you go north in the central portion of the state into Northern California, you happen upon a magnificent sight. Mount Shasta rises up from the middle of nothing and it seems so close!
This picture was a taken a few years ago in May when the snow was still falling on the mountain. That snow melt is critical for the water that California uses through the year. It is a beautiful sight to see. Mt. Shasta is actually a volcano that is at the southern end of the Cascade Mountain range. It stands 14,179 feet.
It’s beautiful and such a sight to see in person! Absolutely amazing!

This beautiful photo almost looks like a painting. I wish I could travel to California and see all its magnificent sites. Mt Shasta is definitely one of the places I would visit.
What a beautiful picture of Mt. Shasta, which I have never seen. I’d like to see this in real life some day.
Mount Shasta is a gorgeous mountain that is breathtaking to see in person. I need to go see it again. You took a great picture!
Gorgeous photo! Now I want to go see it in real life.
Gorgeous! I live near a lot of mountains, but they don’t have quite the same effect as seeing such a huge, volcanic peak rise from almost nothing!
Ahh, why I love mountains…. Lovely picture.
Wow! That is a breath taking view!
Beautiful picture and beautiful part of the country. That snow pack is super super low this year strange weather we are all having.
That is breathtaking! It looks like a postcard, taken on a perfect day. Thanks for sharing.
