NATU Hair Care Products for Natural Chemical Free Hair
Like many women, I highlight my hair, I blow dry and flat iron it AND use a lot of hair products to create my look. My hair is fairly healthy, but from time to time, I do notice it drying out, becoming dull and not looking as bouncy and fabulous as I’d like. I recently had the opportunity to review several hair care products from NATU, which the company touts as “nature’s antidote for what chemicals do to your hair.” I was really looking forward to trying out these products on my hair and giving it some extra TLC.
NATU’s line of hair products contain natural ingredients that are highly effective in improving the quality of your hair and help correct existing hair woes that are caused by harmful chemicals and synthetics. The products contain the same kind of natural-born proteins, lipids, vitamins and nutrients you’ll find in healthy hair and the products are free of harsh chemicals, such as sulfates, silicones, resins, parabens, phthalates, petrolatum and ethoxylates. That’s a mouthful of hard words to pronounce—parabens, phthalates and petrolatum—oh my!
I reviewed the NATU Professional Colorist Shampoo and NATU Professional Colorist Conditioner, which left my hair feeling fresh, clean, soft and invigorated. Since I do color my hair, using a combination of shampoo and conditioners that protect the color is important to me. I want to make that color last and stretch out my appointments at the hair salon as long as I can! I really liked both the shampoo and conditioner and love the fact that there aren’t any artificial colors or synthetic fragrances. It feels natural and smells natural, but I have to say, I kind of missed the scented shampoo that I’ve used in the past. I love to lather up my hair and have that clean, crisp, grapefruity, slightly flowery smell. I’m an old school shampoo-sniffer. Guilty as charged. I always open the top to make sure I’m not going to smell like leather or like my grandma’s perfume. The scent on these products is subtle and while not bad, I didn’t find it extremely pleasing either. With that said I do appreciate the natural elements of these products and understand why they don’t have a stronger, more pronounced fragrance. It’s a small tradeoff I’m willing to make for healthier, more beautiful hair.
The third product that I reviewed was the NATU Reviving Mist. This product is ideal for anyone that has over-processed, over-bleached, over-fried or just plain old, dried-out hair. This reviving mist adds refreshing moisture and strength to hair without adding a greasy build-up. I enjoyed using this product and did make my hair feel and look better. All of the natural ingredients combine to produce clean, shiny hair that is beautifully moisturized.
Overall, these are great, natural products with no harmful ingredients. I used the products for about a week straight and you can see in the picture how my hair looks. It feels soft, looks great and healthy. NATU sells a full line of products for all hair types and none of the products are tested on animals, all of the natural ingredients are derived from plant sources not animal products, and are gluten-free and many are soy-free. The prices are affordable and the products can be found at the NATU web site and are carried in Whole Foods Market stores.
