Good morning everyone! *Yawn* I need to go back to bed and sleep for a few more hours! We went out last night as I had to go to work & I took the family along (local reviews). By the time we got back home I was exhausted but wide awake from all of the excitement.
Today’s Topic: During the holiday season what kind of free or low cost holiday activities do you and your family enjoy? During this time of year there are a ton of activities going on and for those who are on a budget, what do you like to do? Here are some of our favorites:
* $2.00 per Person Holiday Kid’s Movies (at the theater)
* Holiday Plays & Musicals at the High School $3.00 per person
* City Tree Lighting Ceremony (free)
* Drive Around & Look at Holiday Light Displays (free)
* Family Cookie Baking Party
* Family Snowman Building Party (if we have snow)
* Family Holiday Card Making (We make them & donate to the nursing home)
* Holiday Music at the Community Center (free by local Choir)
So….let’s hear your ideas on holiday activities that are free or low cost that you and your family enjoy doing.

Good ideas. I love the making Christmas cards and donating them to the nursing home. One year my daughter sent Christmas cards to a lot of homebound people for hospice. It really is nice when everyone can receive a card and know someone thought of them.
Christmas movies are big for us. We all have our favorites, but it’s so nice to sit as a family and watch the movies we’ve seen a million times. I also visit the dollar bin at Target and get kids crafts for my grandkids. Cheap and keeps them entertained.
My favorite free activity is going and looking at the lights! I LOVE them. I also like to visit other Churches and see their Christmas programs. But I love your idea about making cards for nursing homes. Lovely!
Yea! Haven’t even checked my email so didn’t know I won. I really wanted a new flashlight. You have the best giveaways with really useful prizes.
There are several sections of Denver that have great holiday decorations and it’s fun to go out and see them.
These are some great ideas. We also go to church, decorate together, enjoy some arts and crafts, and watch a lot of movies.
Congratualtions to the winners.
We live out in the boondocks, so there’s not a lot going on, and even the nearest city is pretty tame. But there’s just the two of us, so it’s easy to have a nice quiet time, maybe watching a movie, or wrapping gifts. I make a lot of our gifts, which is nice. And for the rest, we enjoy shopping together, even online.
There are so many activities here and it just depends on how far you’re willing to drive and your patience with the traffic, lol. I always partake in the cookie baking and light sightseeing. I know I’m missing a lot more so I should check the net for this weekend.
Congratulations to the 2 winners.
We do just about everything on your list: except for the holiday card making. We also have different good events at our local library.
