When working out at home it easy to get stale and bored very quickly. Having a few different routines and even different music can make your work out fresh and renewed. With the New Year on the way, many people are choosing to set goals for healthy changes in their lifestyles. I am no different. I have really enjoyed walking to the Leslie dvd’s and I was excited to check out a new one for the New Year.

Leslie Sansone Walk to the HITS Party Songs DVD features hit music and High Intensity Interval Training (aka HIIT) that makes the perfect combination! Hit music pumps up your pace, and HIIT training alternates between bursts of all out effort and periods of recovery allows you to walk a shorter session and blast away as many calories as you would in a longer one.

A study published in The Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness showed that women who completed a 12 week HIIT program lost more weight than a group who performed longer sessions of moderate intensity cardio. The HIIT group also lost MORE BELLY FAT. In short, walking to the hits using HIIT training is a sure-fire way to fire-up your walk!

For this program, Leslie took some of her favorite party songs and combined them with fresh new Walk At Home moves to create a 3 mile walk like none other. It’s PURE PARTY ENERGY!! You know how the music you hear at the best parties makes you want to MOVE and just FEELS GOOD? Well this walk has it! It’s like a great, big calorie burning celebration!

I loved the music that Leslie chose for this DVD. There is a lot of popular hits that I listened to in the past so hearing the familiar beats really helps me enjoy these workouts. “We Got The Beat” by the Go-Gos is one of my favorite songs! “U Can’t Touch This” is also a fun song that is included.

This dvd is broken into 3 sets of 12-13 minute miles with a 5 minute warm up and cool down. She includes 30 seconds of HIIT intervals that help your heart rate really pump up and then you get the cool down of walking.
