We are now 11 days away until Christmas Day is here. How many of you have started your holiday baking? How many of you are waiting until the last minute? For me personally, I always start my baking on December 3rd and I bake up through New Year’s Day. I bake for my personal family, my extended family and for the little old ladies at the nursing home. I seem to be baking every day!

For those of you who are looking for some ideas I have some great holiday cookie recipes to share with all of you from the great folks over at Pillsbury.

Doughboy’s 2013 top four holiday cookies:

1. Best Cookie to Make with the Kids: Frosted Reindeer Cookies
Easy to make and totally fun for the kids to find creative ways to decorate

2. Best Crowd Pleaser: Quick Peanut Blossoms
This holiday classic has been a favorite for years. From your office party to your best friend’s holiday gathering, you can’t go wrong with combining chocolate and peanut butter

3. Best Cookie Exchange Cookie: Holiday Star Cookie
Beautiful yet simple, this three-ingredient cookie is sure to shine at your cookie swap

4. Best Cookie to Gift: Chocolate-Hazelnut-Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies
This cookie looks and sounds gourmet, yet it’s easy to make by “Chef You” – perfect to wrap up and gift.

For those of you who are looking for super quick & easy ideas…then head to your local grocery store and check out the Pillsbury products in the refrigerated section. I picked up a roll of the Pillsbury Sugar Cookie Dough a few days ago and guess what I had yesterday for my afternoon snack? Yup, that’s right…sugar cookies!!!

Once you buy the refrigerated dough just take it home and store it in your refrigerator until you are ready to bake them. Then preheat your oven, open up the package, slice them into the perfect portions and bake them on a cookie sheet. There are no ingredients to mix up, no dirty baking bowls & utensils…nothing! Simply slice and bake!

Within 10 minutes we had freshly baked sugar cookies sitting on our table for the family to enjoy and let me tell you…they were delicious! They were all devoured by the family within a few short hours!

Head on over to the Pillsbury web site and take a look at all of the refrigerated cookie dough that they have to offer. While you are over there you can browse their recipe section to get more holiday baking ideas!

Many of our gifts are homemade baked goods, but this year, I’m having a harder time than usual with the whole holiday thing. I’ve purchased most of the supplies I’ll need, but I haven’t even made a list, picked out the recipes, or begun to plan out a baking schedule. I do keep some mixes on hand, and if I keep procrastinating, that’s what I’ll be using! In a pinch, the Pillsbury Dough Boy and Betty Crocker are my best friends.

I do like the store bought dough for convenience but it’s a tradition to mess up the kitchen and spend the whole day baking! Love the reindeer cookies too and must try those.

I am not much of a baker – but I do like the slice and bake ease of Pillsbury. Those reindeer cookies are adorable and I may make those!

ALthough I have tried Pillsbury cookie dough I prefer to bake my own. In a pinch I could use one of the Pillsbury products and I do like the recipes on the website.
