Bugs are something that creep most people out and I am no exception to that! It doesn’t matter what kind of bug it is…I just don’t like them! From the tiniest bugs like lady bugs…to huge cockroaches, they all give me the chills. Frankly, when I see a bug I feel sick to my stomach and want to run the other way.
With that said, there are people in this world who love studying bugs! That’s right, there are actually people who love looking at bugs and learning all of their good and bad habits. For example, did you all know that the Orkin company actually employs scientists to study bugs? They study them to learn more about them and how we as people can deal with bugs on a daily basis.
Over on the Orkin Ecologist web site they have an article up right now listing out the world’s scariest bugs and when I read over that list…I said…That’s Me…they all creep me out! Spiders seem to be the #1 contenders for the scariest bugs but also making the list are bullet ants, army ants, human botfly, bird-eating spider, black widow spider, giant Japanese hornet and others. Ewwww…disgusting!
The top bugs that creep me out the most happen to be: spiders, mosquitos, cock roaches, ants and any type of bee. I am deathly allergic to bees so I avoid them like the plague! I once saw a cock roach up in a New York City hotel that was at least 4″ in length…no kidding! We were outta that room in a hurry and switched to a new room as I was NOT going to sleep in a room that had a cock roach in it. blah!

I can not any type of bug, especially cockroaches, they are the worst. And flies are awful! Any type of flying insect I can not stand! Every summer I have problems with flying bugs. I have to put out traps.

my fear of bugs is about the same as yours, I do not like seeing spiders, especially those big ones, I had one in my car this past week in the early morning , as soon as I got in the car and was about to sit my purse on the seat ( it was still kinda dark ) I noticed this gigantic yucky ugly spider sitting on the passenger seat, I freaked immediately, said a few cuss words too and then unlocked the passenger door got out opened that door and stepped on him and wiped it up with paper towels, YUCK, that thing was disgusting, LOL just thinking about it freaks me out, normally I never ever kill them because i am so afraid of them I always yell for my hubby but he was inside and not willing to come outside since it was rainy, cold and dark, all I kept thinking was OMG what if that thing started to crawl on me while I was driving I probably would of had an accident, I also despise bees, I think they enjoy chasing me, I dont like to go outside often because of the bees, we also had those nasty Canadian lake soldiers this summer, we are about a block from the lake and they come every summer and cover the house, car , street & just about anywhere, they only live one day but they are a nuisance
I have a hard time with bugs of any kind and try to avoid them as best I can, but the ones that get in your car just scares me to death, I dont like it when they make webs across the dashboard and I cant catch the culprit, maybe the one I killed the other morning was it, I just hope he was alone,LOL
I don’t like bugs, but I don’t think I am terrified of them. If I see a spider or other bug in the house I shall try to kill it and clean the house more thoroughly.
Thank you SOOOO much for not showing a picture of a spider! I am SUPER arachnaphobic and even the mention of one of those things makes me tremble and sweat. Funny thing is, I am complete fascinated by other bugs – always trying to find out what the ones I see are! Sorry, but I don’t think I can face going to the Orkin site, though – they may have a spider picture!
i dont know that i have a phobia of all bugs – i grew up seeing many grand daddy long legs (dont know the technical name for them) spiders at my granny’s house out in the country. we played with them a little even because the body is tiny but the legs are long and skinny. but i have to admit i am afraid of all other types of spiders. dont like ’em one bit!
