People Who Mis-Behave at Public Sporting Events

Good morning everyone! Wow, it’s Tuesday November 5th…we are creeping up on the holiday season and I am about 50% done with my holiday shopping. Hoping I can be completely done before December 1st.

Anyway, I attended a large sporting event over the weekend and wow, it is amazing how many people can’t control themselves and behave at these type of things.

We saw someone scalping tickets to the event and 2 very unclassy women fighting over who was going to buy those tickets out in the parking lot. Then we saw a nasty guy arguing with a parking attendant over $40 parking charges and so forth. These people were not discussing things like a mature adult but a full out yelling, arguing etc. session was going on.

Then inside the venue I witness 2 unclassy women arguing in one of the bathrooms over what each other were wearing. Yes, the one adult woman was dress provocatively and inappropriately for the event but geesh, the other woman who didn’t know her got in her face and a fight almost broke out.

The final kicker for me was a rude gal sitting behind us at the venue who yelled some inappropriate things to me. Whatever! Grow up, act your age please!

Anyway…have any of you attended a public sporting event and witness unruly, unclassy and unprofessional behavior from others? I don’t know why people can’t just behave, relax and have a good time at these things!

We had 2 giveaways close late last night and I do have 2 winners to announce this morning. Both winners will be sent emails so that they can claim their prizes.

Winner for the Skoy Cloths is: Sherry Compton
Winner for the Leslie Sansone DVD is: Katie Anson

Congratulations ladies! Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!

  1. Yes I’m afraid I’ve given up on trying to enjoy myself at these events, especially here in LA. I think people must party too much before and forget about the people around them! Bad example for the kiddos too.

I cannot believe how many people in this world have no class and no manners! (Though where I live $40 for parking would no doubt cause a stir!) I am sorry that someone was unclassy and yelled something at you. So glad that you had class enough not to yell something back! I have been to events, large and small, and witnessed the same kind of thing. Takes some of the fun out things.

  3. My Gosh,I am so with you. A few years ago my whole, extended family took a road trip to San Diego to see the Red Sox play there for the first time. We were so excited, but at the same time disgusted with the way some of the Sox fans were behaving: drunk, rude, swearing, and even the same “activities” in the ladies room that you experienced (what is with that??!!!). Not so from the Padres fans. We were actually embarrassed to say we were Red Sox fans.

  4. Thanks ladies for sharing all of your comments. It goes to show you…we and our readers are ultra classy people!

    Congratulations to the 2 winners.
It is a shame that there are so many adults who do not know how to behave correctly at an event. I am sure that they were taught correct manners, so why do they feel it is okay to be nasty to the opposing team or just act out.

  6. That’s never a good experience

It’s sad the way people act. I’m sorry that these people put a negative air on your outing. It feels like you can’t go out to these events anymore, especially not as a family. I don’t want to explain to my grandkids adults’ fighting and use of inappropriate language. I don’t even want to see or hear that myself. From drinking too much to yelling at the players to cussing at other people in the stands, some people take the fun out of it. I always worry, too, about driving home after people are in an irate mood and have had too much to drink. I try to remember that the majority of the people are good. I hope you can look back and have some good memories, too.

I hardly take my kids to sporting events anymore because people can be so rude. It is sad that civility is becoming lost in our society and being filled with impatient selfish people. I still choose civility regardless if a person is rude or not.

for the life of me i dont get why people are so rude and angry! while i havent experienced what you did at a sporting event, i do remember one incident at a walmart pharmacy. there was a long line and it was noon. the pharmacy closes ffor a half hour at noon so the employees can eat lunch (this is posted on the wall). when the lady announed the had to close for lunch a guy behind me in line shouted f*** you! i couldnt believe it! and it was around Christmas that this happened. the holidays should bring out the best in people but i think for some it shows their true colors.

  10. Ohmygosh. I agree 100% with this post. I also hate when people boo. I think it’s ok to cheer for your team, but there is no need to boo at the opposing team players, performers, or staff. We are all people!

  11. Wow! I think people these days dont know what manners are!
