It’s that time. You know, the dreaded holiday shopping season is upon us. It’s easy to figure out the perfect gift for some people, but for others, it’s like getting a root canal. This year, try something a little different. Give something old and new. Madera Home has both. The company imports and restores beautiful but unusable wooden furniture and decorative pieces. Their work is outstanding.

Quality wood furniture is not a lost art as long as artisans and companies like Madera Furniture exist. Madera is more than a furniture maker. Company artisans take recycling to new heights. Reclaimed wood from temples and discarded furniture are transformed into works of art. Madera Home’s team of artisans and craftsmen has over 100 years of experience and it shows. Each piece goes from trash to treasure in up to 30 days using up to 30 processes to get them there. I can barely refinish a dresser, so I’m impressed. Once I saw the results of the painstaking process in person, I was more impressed.

Madera Home sent the Teal Pillow Box with Koi Fish that serves as an accent piece in my living room. A 60-80 year old, 10 x 7 x 4 box from China, the piece was restored without losing the charm of an older piece. The teal color and hand-painted gold design work well with the room’s transitional style. It resembles an old pirate chest according to hubby and the whole family likes it. While browsing the store’s online catalog, my daughter and I found more than a few items that made us gasp. Absolutely beautiful items of all sizes are available.
