Decorating Your Home for the Holidays with Outdoor Holiday Lights

Decorate Your Home with Holiday Outdoor Lights

Our Holiday Lights from Yard Outlet

** 2013 Holiday Gift Guide Feature **

A few weeks ago we reviewed some outdoor Christmas lights from the Yard Outlet that we placed around one of our shrubs near our front door. You can currently find that review right here on our blog and you can enter the giveaway for a large outdoor LED Holiday Wreath that the Yard Outlet is sponsoring.

Over the next few weeks we are going to show you how you can “spruce up” your outdoor spaces with Christmas and Holiday Lights from the YardOutlet.

Light Strands for the Roof Lights

Light Strands for the Roof Lights

For this particular review we are going to focus on some outstanding holiday lights that we placed around our roof of our home. Here is what we received:

* LED-C7-WW-D – Warm White C7 LED Replacement Bulb, Box of 25
* C7-100-W – C7 Light String, 100′ Length, 12″ Spacing, White Wire

We have quite a large house so we received several sets of each item listed above for the review.

The Light String comes in a 100 foot length with 12″ socket spacing. We love that it is white which blends in with our home’s siding nicely. What is really cool is that it doesn’t come with the bulbs so you can purchase whatever color you would like.

The light bulbs are the coolest ones I have ever seen. We got the “warm white” LED bulbs which are super bright and I love that they are faceted which really makes the light dance and pop! These bulbs will give you an average of 60,000 hours of light time so they will last you several years!

Let me say…these were super easy to assemble and to install. Hubby and I sat on the floor one afternoon and while watching a movie screwed all of the bulbs into the sockets. It was a quick and easy process and in less than one hour they were ready to be hung. We did go out and buy those plastic clips at our local home improvement store so that he could get them hung up easily without causing any damage to our home.

I am afraid of heights so he used a ladder and got up on the roof and I stayed below and fed up the light strands as he needed them. Although we worked as a team, one individual can certainly do this project easily. It was blistering cold the day we put up our new holiday lights so we worked a few hours on the project one day and a few hours on it the following day.

Now I want to talk to you all about the quality of these lights which is exceptional! We live in a part of the country were we get a lot of wind storms, thunderstorms, blizzards, ice, freezing rain and all kinds of other unpleasant things.

A few days after we put the lights up we got blasted with a 45 mph wind storm and freezing rain for about 48 hours. We were worried that our lights would be broken and ruined but were pleasantly surprised that they looked perfect once the storm was over. Not a single bulb got broken because they are constructed of acrylic plastic. They can handle rough weather unlike those cheap ones you find out in retail stores.

For both of the nighttime photos above I was standing across the street and in my neighbors driveway to take the photos. As you can see, those warm white roof lights are plenty bright and look absolutely beautiful. You can see them from several hundred yards away which is making all of my neighbors jealous because our house looks festive & fabulous and theirs does not! LOL

We love these lights that we received from the Yard Outlet! Hubby says they are the best outdoor holiday lights that he has ever owned! They are high-quality, beautiful, easy-to-install and super affordable!

Over the next two weeks I will be sharing more photos and information with you on how we decorated our house with holiday lights, wreaths and swags from the Yard Outlet! Stay tuned for those posts to give you all some great ideas on how you can do it too!

    Your house already looks wonderful and you are still working on the decorations. I am glad that these lights are made of acrylic plastic and therefore are very hard to break. In addition they last a very long time.This YardOutlet.com site has wonderful decorations.

    Your house looks great! I love how nice and straight the white lights are along the eaves of your home! Your hubby is a lot braver than I am but I would most definitely get someone to put some up for me. The burn time of those lights is what makes them great for me.
