A Christmas Tree Miracle: On DVD

November 30, 2013 by Classystaff

I am a sucker for Christmas. It is one of my favorite times of the year. I even start listening to Holiday music around September or so. Plus I love watching wonderful holiday movies. The holidays just makes me feel good and brings me many memories of my mother. It is a special time of year for me. So when I was asked to review a Christmas movie that is coming out this holiday season, I was thrilled to do so.

A Christmas Tree Miracle DVD by Green Apple Entertainment is coming to DVD Dec. 3 and it is a wonderful feel good story.

Synopsis: A dysfunctional family is reminded of the true meaning of Christmas in the heart-warming story A Christmas Tree Miracle, coming to DVD and VOD Dec. 3 from Green Apple Entertainment.

For the George family – accustomed to the luxuries of a privileged suburban life – Christmas has become a season of taking rather than giving. With dad pre-occupied with work, mom on edge and self-involved teens, Nick and Natalie, fixated on their ever- growing wish lists, the youngest is the only one with any true Christmas spirit.

When their dad loses his job just before the holidays, the family ignores the severity of the situation and continues to live above their means. When the consequences catch up with them, they are left with nothing and nowhere to turn.

Taken in by an eccentric Christmas tree farmer, the family learns that miracles can come true … if you believe! A warm-hearted tale reminding us that the best gifts are the simple ones … all year long.

My Thoughts: This movie had a powerful message for me. The story line reflects a lot of what my own family went through a few years ago. I found myself crying through much of the movie; from sadness and from happiness. Yes, it could be menopause kicking in too, but the story brought back many memories of my family and it has a heart warming ending too.

In the beginning of the movie, you are introduced to the George family and they are not always very nice on the outside – to others or each other. They are like a lot of families – focused on material things instead of what is in your heart. But as you start seeing the world through a child’s eye and the family gets knocked to their knees, they soon find that the kindness to others is a gift onto itself.

I do not like spoilers when it comes to reviews of any kind, so let me say that this movie will make you a bit mad, sad and happy too. It is a lovely family movie that everyone should watch together. It brings the magic of Christmas to light and that was something I needed to be reminded of again.
