Yes, Veterans Day was celebrated yesterday but I think any day is a great day to remember our vets and thank them for a job well done. My local community college and a chapter of the Rotary club in town decided to celebrate our vets and current service men and women. The first Field of Honor opened at the college on November 3 and remained open until November 11 in honor of Veterans, current military, police officers, firefighters and other first responders.
The Field consisted of 1,000 large United States flags – 1,000 flags lined up and lit all night long in honor of our service men and women. The flags are sponsored by various businesses and individual from the community. It was a stunning sight to see and I made sure to go over and get several pictures to share. I love this! The closing ceremonies were on Veterans day with a parade following. Enjoy!

I love this Field of Honor. I wish I could have seen it all lit up at night. We should always remember and honor our vets, not just on Veterans Day. There should be more programs in place and running correctly to aid them.
What a beautiful thing, and a great way to honor our veterans. Thanks for sharing your photo.
inspiring and sad
Do not forget the veterans – the men and women who are or did fight for our country and our freedom. They all deserve our thanks and respects for all that they have done. God bless everyone of you and hope you come home safely.
