Flu’s and Colds During the Winter Season

Good morning everyone! It’s Tuesday, October 22nd already! OMG…where has this year gone? Is everyone getting ready for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday? It’s a big family deal here so we have begun our planning.

Today’s Topic: How many of you consider yourself to be healthy? How many of you seem to get those seasonal flus and colds? For myself personally, this is the time of the year that my body always gets sick. I think a lot of it has to do with the change of weather and being around others (indoors) who are sick. I am fighting a bad sinus infection, bronchitis & a touch of the flu this week. Every fall and winter season I get hit by at least 4 or 5 bad infections. When I lived in the Southwest (Arizona) I didn’t get wintertime sickness like this at all.

We had a few giveaways close late last night so we do have winners to announce this morning. As always, we spend time every morning validating entries, trashing out the cheater entries and then randomly select a winner using random.org. We then double check that persons entry to make sure it’s legit and then finalize it.

TCC Chat Blog – Church Girl Movie Ticket Winner is: Samantha Miller
Winner for Cooler Bag from The Wagon Store is: Terri Shaw
Winner for the Skinsations Prize Pack is: Christina Graham

Congratulations to all 3 of our lucky winners this morning. Enjoy your Tuesday!

I’m not immune to sickness, but I believe that daily exercise has helped fight off any major illness. It been at least 2 years since I’ve been sick, and I’m grateful, but know that any day a nasty virus can easily enter my body.

I am so sorry that you are sick. It is that time of year. Colds, flu, and other illnesses seem to really spread and overwhelm us. Plus, they often linger and won’t leave. I am fairly healthy, but my husband every year gets bad congestion problems. Poor guy! He has even blown his ear drum from blowing his nose so much. It can be awful! My daughter has a low immune system, and we try to be really careful because she catches a lot. We all get the flu shots and try to stay aware of the people around us and staying healthy. Everyone’s going to get sick. I just hope your husband is pampering you. We all need a little pampering when we don’t feel well. Get better soon!

  3. Sorry you’re not feeling well. I get sinus infections but have not had the flu since 1981, lol. I’m a nurse and exposed to all kinds of evil germs so God is watching out for me.

    Congratulations to the 3 winners.
I am sorry that you are sick. Did you get the flu even though you had a flu shot or perhaps you haven’t gotten the shot yet? I consider myself to be fairly healthy. I have arthritis, but no other problems. I usually get the flu shot at the beginning of November because I had heard that it is the most effective in the first month or so, even though it works for the whole flu season. I think people often get more sick because they are indoors me with other people and children at school bring home a lot of different viruses.
