Good morning everyone! Happy hump day Wednesday! We are halfway to the weekend and frankly, it can’t get here soon enough for me. This week has been super crazy for me and I am looking forward to a little “down time” this weekend.
Today’s Question: When it comes to traveling do you have any fears? For me, I used to love flying until I almost died 13 years ago on a flight to the west coast. Since that time, I have not flown again and my doctor says “no way” for me. For hubby…he won’t get on a bus for a long bus ride. He hates them and absolutely will not get on one. He can’t stand being closed in with a lot of strangers for hours on end. My sister is afraid of traveling by boat and refuses to get on a cruise ship or any other type of boat. She has a big fear of water & drowning. So, do you have any travel fears?
We had a few giveaways close late last night so we do have winners to announce this morning. As always, we spend time every morning validating entries, trashing out the cheater entries and then randomly select a winner using random.org. We then double check that persons entry to make sure it’s legit and then finalize it.
Winner Thomas & Friends DVD: Lesley F.
Winners Ring Pop Candy: Caitlin McClure, Jan Le, Pam OLeary
Congratulations to all 4 of our winners this morning. Have a great Wednesday and check back in about an hour for our first review/giveaway of the day!
I don’t like being enclosed in a small plane, but I am okay in the bigger jets. I don’t enjoy long bus rides and often become nauseated during a long ride, so I avoid that type of trip. As long as I don’t become nauseous boats are fine. I think there is danger in almost any kind of transportation. You just have to be careful and hope that the other guy is careful too and Mother Nature isn’t acting up.
I don’t like flying either. I haven’t flown for over 15 years. I guess I won’t be seeing Europe anytime soon, but that’s ok. THere is so much beauty here in the USA. 15 years ago, we were in a plane, a small one with propellers in the middle of a thunderstorm. THere was so much turbulence that it freaked me out. Ever since then I won’t fly…. unless it’s an emergency
I too am very, very afraid of flying. It is not quite a phobia, I knoew it is statisticly safe, can buy a ticket, get on a plane, but once it takes off, total panic sets in.
Due to a limited budget and being rather outdoorsy, we go on a lot of camping trips, mainly in the Texas Hill Country. I drive a very large and comfortable SUV, so long car rides are not an issue.
We also love being on the water and going boating, but have not yet gone on a cruise.
I don’t like flying. I’ve been in a plane that got hit by lightning. Hubby had a bad flight once as well where they dropped in a storm a couple hundred feet. We still fly but only because we don’t like long car rides. Cruises are our favorite vacation so a 20+ hour prior to and after a cruise isn’t fun for us.
I don’t have fears of buses but I don’t and won’t ride them – trains either where I’m enclosed with a bunch of people.
