Do You Have a Snake Phobia

Good morning everyone! Happy Thursday morning to you all! It’s time to Rise & Shine and make it a fabulous day!

A few days ago I went out side to get the mail. I went out my front door and down my short sidewalk to the mailbox. Low and behold what do I see? An 8″ to 10″ long baby snake…thank god he was already dead! I totally flipped out after seeing it. I have had a severe snake phobia since I was a teenager when I was bit by a snake & got anti-venom + a 2 week hospital stay. Ever since then…I can’t watch them on TV, I avoid the reptile buildings at zoos and well…I just hate snakes! They creep me out! Are any of you afraid of snakes? Anyone got a severe phobia about them like me? I would love to hear about it!

We had a few giveaways close late last night so we do have winners to announce this morning. As always, we spend time every morning validating entries, trashing out the cheater entries and then randomly select a winner using random.org. We then double check that persons entry to make sure it’s legit and then finalize it.

Grace Unplugged Giveaway on our sister TCC Blog – Christian Alejandro
Berkshire Blankets Giveaway – Michelle Henriquez
Enjoy Haircare Products Giveaway – Sarah L

Congratulations to all 3 of our lucky winners this morning!

I am more afraid of snakes than spiders or mice, but I guess it would also depend upon the size of the snake. Between a snake that is a foot long or more and a non-domesticated rat I am not sure which would freak me out more. I hope never to encounter either.

I am literally phobically afraid of spiders and centipedes so I can relate in that aspect. And I’m not even afraid of if the poisonous ones bite me (it’s illogically more about how creepy they LOOK) I scream and get all paranoid and flip out hysterically.

However I love snakes. When my 5 kids were still growing up my at the time 10 yr old daughter brought me a garter snake she found in our backyard and asked if we could keep it as a pet. I told her only if she wanted to use her money ($100) to set up a proper vivarium for it. She agreed. We named her Pebbles and she was very tame and she’d even sit curled up in our hands during an entire Disney movie. At Christmas they put a tiny $1 store battery light up tree in her vivarium, she was a spoiled snake lol We had her for years. She never bit any one in all those years.

  3. oh trust me ladies, I about pee’d my pants and then I ran into my house, locked the door and flipped out like a little baby! I hope to never see another one here!

  4. Thanks for taking the time to validate all the entries. And for picking ME! Congrats to the other winners.

No phobia, but not fond of snakes. Spiders are another matter – yuk!

I am not fond of snakes or reptiles either. I would not say it is a phobia, but I do make sure to avoid them, mainly out of not knowing which ones are dangerous.
I am deathly afraid of flying and have not flown in a decade. I used to love it as a child, but once I got older my fear got worse and established itself as a full blown phobia. Luckily, I love driving and camping trips, so our vacations are usually made up of roadtrips.
