Oral-B Pro Health Oral Care Products for Kids with Tips

October 28, 2013 by Shelly

PrintOnce Halloween and Trick or Treat night is over, it’s time to get down to serious business with our child’s oral healthcare. While some kids are great about brushing their teeth, others are not.

Did you know that there are MILLIONS of at-risk kids that can’t sleep at night, eat properly or even concentrate in school because of painful tooth decay? Without the financial resources for dental care or even a toothbrush or toothpaste, these kids find themselves caught in a downward spiral of pain and humiliation, from getting bullied in school to enduring an agonizing toothache on a daily basis.

The great folks at America’s ToothFairy and Oral-B want all kids to stay healthy by practicing good oral hygiene habits. I was sent a complimentary set of products to review for all of you. These products are made for kids so my little grand daughter received them all.

We received:

* 1 Oral-B Pro Health For Me Rechargeable Toothbrush
* 3 Oral-B Sensitive Clean Brush Head Refills

The Oral-B Pro-Health for Me Rechargeable Toothbrush is the perfect electric toothbrush for kids. It is designed to cater to the oral health needs of tweens without cramping their style. This electric toothbrush has a waterproof handle with fun designs and is compatible with multiple toothbrush heads. It also features a brushing timer that ensures their brushing style goes the extra mile for the dentist-recommended 2 minutes. This brush head provides a gentle brushing experience. Replacement refill heads feature extra-soft bristles. Gently Power away gunk.

Our Thoughts: This set is made for Tweens but even a younger child can use it with adult supervision. Every time our Princess brushes her teeth, we are in the bathroom with her teaching her the proper techniques and monitoring her. One of the things I love about this electric toothbrush is the 2 minute timer. As with most kids, they don’t brush their teeth long enough and this toothbrush reminds them to do it for the recommended 2 full minutes. To a child, they think 15 seconds is 2 minutes…so this timer is absolutely fantastic.

Next, the extra-soft bristles are a must for the princess. Even though she is a child, she has sensitive teeth and gums. The bristles are the perfect size for her little mouth and didn’t irritate her at all. I found the refill heads to be easy to change, so nothing difficult with that at all. Overall, we are really impressed and she has been using the product for over a week now and is doing a great job with it.

Tips from America’s ToothFairy!

Make this year memorable and sweet without all the sugar.  Give ’em a treat without the sweet! Hand out sugar-free candy, toothbrushes or fun little toys to trick or treaters!  Make sure your child has a healthy meal before Halloween festivities to avoid snacking and a sugar overload!  If you are hosting a party, use healthy foods to make fun treats that the kids can enjoy. With a little fruit, some paper plates and toothpicks, children can create their own Monster Face. Melonballs or grapes make great monster’s eyeballs, simply spear the melonballs with the toothpicks and poke through the paper plate. For the monster’s nose, spear strawberries or orange slices, and for the monster’s smile, a banana will do just fine!

For a healthy smile year round, remember to brush, and floss your teeth twice a day and visit your dentist once every six months! For children ages 6 and up, use a fluoride rinse.  Trick or Treat with America’s ToothFairy this year and help raise awareness and support to portect young smiles and help kids in need!

Sometimes the kids play on song to brush their teeth . Kids should learn teeth habits early so they can have strong healthy teeth. I usually try to give them healthy treats at Halloween and Easter time.

A great cause and organization. My family has learned the hard way the importance of oral care. Tooth problems can lead to major health issues and even poison your blood. Teaching your children proper techniques and following them yourself is important. I’m glad that there are specific products out there to get kids brushing.

I too love the timer, especially since I have trouble brushing for the full 2 minutes myself. Making brushing fun with cute characters will make a child brush more.

This does sound like a great way to encourage healthy brushing habits….love the timer, as 2 minutes in kid time can be super short. I’m thinking a fun new toothbrush might be a great Halloween treat to go with the candy.
