I Dislike Creepy, Crawly Creatures #BugOut

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Orkin Ecologist for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

How many of you have a bug phobia? I know I personally do! I get totally creeped out when I see spiders, stink bugs, ants, house flies, fleas, ticks, bed bugs and god forbid if I see a cockroach! OMG…cockroaches are the ultimate nasty pest from the bug world! I once saw a cockroach that was at least 3″ in length when I was visiting New York City and I thought I was going to have a heart attack! Disgusting Cockroach

Every time I see a bug of some sort here in our own home I am flipping out pretty quick and instantly yell for my husband to take care of the problem. Yes, I know bugs and creepy critters have their place in our world but they don’t have a place in my HOME!

I found this article online about the top 10 bug phobias and let me tell you…all 10 of those definitely creep me out! I learned that Arachnophobia is one of the top leading bug phobias that people seem to have…count me in on that! Those tiny little eyes, hairy legs and well, they bite and spider bites & I don’t get along at all.

I also suffer with Apiphobia which is a fear of bees. I am highly allergic to bees and carry around an epipen with me just incase I get stung. Since I am deathly allergic to bees, it has caused a huge phobia in me over the years. Anyone else have a fear of bees? You all have to check out their list of the top 10 bug phobias and I would say that I suffer from them all!!!

Apiphobia

Did you all know that Orkin has a site called Orkin Ecologist where people can go online and learn about various bugs and pests? It’s a site for all of you who enjoy that kind of thing and you can learn the science behind bugs and their habits. I found it interesting how they can get in your home, why they come in and things that can be done to get them out. It’s a site that can be used by novice or experienced science lovers. Definitely a site my 10 year old nephew would enjoy since he is fascinated with bugs!

You can find Orkin Ecologist on Facebook where you can learn more and interact with them and other fans. They also have a Pinterest account where you can follow them or share something on their Pinterest board using the hashtag #BugOut.

We would love to hear about your own personal #BugOut moments so please leave us a comment below here on our blog. What kind of bugs creep you out? What type of bug is the one that creeps you out the most? Got any buggy stories to share with us?
