Holiday shopping for many of us has kicked into full gear. For myself personally, I am hoping to have all of my gift shopping completed by December 1st of this year. I always set that goal but rarely make it…but this year will be different since I started my holiday shopping last month.

When shopping for foodie gifts…I like to shop online and have them directly sent to the gift recipient and this is a great way to send gifts to family & friends who don’t live nearby. For the review I selected the Perfect Occasion Gift Basket to review for all of you. I selected this one because it would make a great holiday gift for a man, woman or a group of people in a small office environment. For me personally, I decided to get this one and treat the ladies at the nursing home with a little surprise. My great auntie lives there and they rarely get visitors or the pampering treatment they deserve.

The gift basket comes with a nice assortment of things. We got 2 different sausages, a small ham, a box of crackers, 3 blocks of various cheeses, herb garden cheese spread and 2 little jars of mustard. I went out and purchased additional crackers, coffee, tea and hot cocoa to go along with it.

I took everything into the nursing home already sliced and prepared for them on some pretty serving trays. The nursing home was kind enough to lend us the small activity room and we held our little party in there. These senior ladies were in their glory to have all of this attention paid upon them and they enjoyed every last morsel that I took in with me. Seriously, there wasn’t even a cracker left for me to enjoy!

They all raved and raved about how good everything was and they told me that they haven’t had anything like this in years! So people…if you have a loved one in a nursing home or an assisted living center…I highly suggest you head on over to the Wisconsin Cheeseman and pick up a few gourmet foodie gifts and treat your loved ones to a little holiday party!
