Fall Fashion – Boiled Wool Cadet Style Hats from Dorfman Pacific

Boiled Wool Cadet Style Hats from Dorfman Pacific

Here in the north east our Fall and Winter seasons can be brutal! We get a lot of snow, freezing rain, ice and of course…freezing temperatures. For many of us, we sport around hats, caps, scarves, ear muffs and all kinds of warm accessories to keep our heads & ears warm.

Dorfman Pacific recently launched the Fall/Winter Scala Collezione collection of boiled wool hats that are very fashion forward this season. The eco-friendly process of altering the material eliminates the usage of harsh chemicals while effectively shrinking the wool. Subsequently, the heat traps air chambers, forming a natural barrier against hot and cold temperatures and the bitter cold wind. The felt like texture is softer, warmer and eliminates the itchy feeling associated with wool.

Scala Collezione’s collection of boiled wool is perfect for teens and women of every age. The item #LW242 is a newsboy best seller that is satin lined and designed to protect the wearer’s hair. The popular item #LW399 is a cloche that comes in 14 different colors to match any outfit or coat. The #LW316 features two tones and bow detailing in 5 different color combinations. These styles and colors are very fashion forward this season!

I was sent a complimentary #LW242 cadet style hat for my review in the pretty olive color. The boiled wool hat is satin lined and in a one-size fits most. The back of the hat has a little elastic gusset which makes it very comfortable to wear. The front has a smaller sized “bill” and I really appreciate that as I am not into wearing baseball caps! This hat is so much more stylish than that!

I have an olive green colored jacket with faux-fur trim that I purchased last year and this styled boiled wool hat goes along with that jacket perfectly. I think it’s a style that works great for more people and I love how it covers up most of my ears but leaves the bottom portion of my ears out (great for when I am wearing my earrings).

Overall, I really LOVE my new hat and absolutely would love to have more of them in additional colors. You can find this new collection for purchase online at Hartford York for around $30.00 each. A great addition to your Fall and Winter wardrobe for sure!

  1. I like the smaller size bill, too. I make hats out of fleece, and I never considered boiled wool. This is worth buying, it is a pain to make hats that aren’t scrunchy. It is well made and I love this one!

I like that this hat is satin lined , does not have too big a bill and leaves the bottom of my ears free for my earrings. I like the red and charcoal colors the most

Very nice! Glad that it keeps you warm, and it looks really good on you. My daughter is always cold and constantly wrapping up in blankets, sweaters, and scarves. She doesn’t like wearing knit caps due to static in hair and getting caught in earrings. But this is fashionable and practical. A great find! You definitely need more. 🙂

  4. I also moved to a warmer climate (LA) and don’t wear my wool caps anymore. Thankfully my family still lives in the Midwest so I keep them around. I have one in every color, probably about 10. Big fan!

That is a really nice hat! I lived in Missouri for about 11 years and saw some harsh winters that had me sprtiong all sorts of hats in an attempt to stay warm. I moved to Texas three years ago and now I only wear caps to keep the sun out of my eyes. 🙂
