The Beautiful Atlantic Ocean in Wildwood New Jersey

October 8, 2013 by Shelly

The Beautiful Atlantic Ocean in Wildwood New Jersey

Here in the United States I think we are pretty lucky that we have such natural beauty all around us! On the east coast we have the Atlantic Ocean, on the west coast we have the Pacific Ocean and down south we have the Gulf. I don’t know about all of you, but I love the ocean & the sea!

For our almost wordless Wednesday post today I selected a photo from our vacation back in early September which shows the beautiful Wildwood beach and the mighty Atlantic Ocean.

Last year when Hurricane Sandy roared ashore in New Jersey…a lot of northern NJ got hit hard. We were lucky down in the south that we only had minor damage and most of that was water damage. Our friends to the north got hit really hard and lost everything which is really sad.

Unlike many of the Jersey Shore locations, the beaches in Wildwood are beautiful, spacious and free! That’s right, no beach tags required! There is plenty of room on these gorgeous beaches and the views of the Atlantic Ocean are just gorgeous to say the least!

Well there you have it…another Almost Wordless Wednesday post for this week!

The Wildwood beach is indeed beautiful. Thanks for sharing the photo. I’m in Downeast Maine, and our shoreline is nothing like that sandy New Jersey beach! We have rocks, and muck, and big tides, all of which are also beautiful but in a completely different way.

Since moving to Michigan, I miss going down the shore. I use to travel down there all the time when I lived in Philly.

This reminds me I need to take time and travel down to Malibu on Pacific Coast Highway and enjoy the Pacific Ocean. It’s a bit of a drive from LA in traffic but on the weekends totally doable. The peace would do me good too.

Beautiful! I live near the Gulf and always make an effort to get out to the beach. For my birthday this year we camped on the beach in Matagorda, TX and it was simply amazing. We brought the dogs and had miles of beach to ourselves.
Given our now cooler temperatures I may have another beach day this weekend.

Wildwood is totally my favorite place in the world. The. World.

A few years ago, I was able to rent an apartment one block from the beach in the Crest. I stayed for 5 weeks. I would be on the beach every morning around 8:30-9:00-ish…and read and be alone, and just listen to the ocean…and then go back home and sit out on the deck and have lunch, watch a baseball game, maybe nap…sigh.

I so miss it. I have been dealing with health issues, so I haven’t been there since, but I so miss it. It’s amazing. And people-watching on the boardwalk? Best activity there is. LOL.

Gorgeous! My best memories are on the beaches in the Carolinas where my family and I would vacation.

This is like the third time that I’ve heard about Wildwood, NJ and now I want to visit it. I’ve been to Atlantic City a lot of times, but have not gone since the hurricane damage. In the summertime, it’s so much fun to jump in the Atlantic when the waves are going. I’ve got a lot of memories there.
