Back to School with Chicken of the Sea “To Go Cups”

Chicken of the Sea

The kids are back-to-school and settling into their new school routines. Here in our home…we have a 4 1/2 year old who is attending her second year of preschool and things have been super hectic! Almost every day we pack her a school lunch to take with her and on days that we don’t we pack snacks.

Chicken of the Sea is here to help all of us who struggle with packing those back-to-school lunches and for those who pack a lunch to work (like my hubby). These “To Go Cups” are ready to eat, no draining required with only 70-80 calories each, perfect for those who are watching their calories. Plus, they are shelf stable and don’t need any refrigeration until after they are opened.

They are available in Chunk Light Tuna, Albacore Tuna, Tuna Salad and Pink Salmon. They come in easy-to-open (no can opener needed) 2.8 ounce sized cups…making them perfect for on-the-go use. The tuna and salmon are “wild caught” and are a natural source of heart-healthy Omega-3 fatty acids & protein. Each package comes with 2 cups.

For our review we received 4 packages to try out for all of you (one package of each variety). The first one that I tried was the Tuna Salad and let me tell you, it was delicious! I spread it right onto a potato roll and enjoyed myself a tuna salad sandwich for lunch. It tasted fresh & just like homemade. A quick lunch that took me only seconds to prepare.

My hubby took the Pink Salmon along with some of his favorite crackers to work one day and enjoyed it as a late afternoon snack. He dipped his crackers directly into the cup (like a dip) and within minutes they were gone. He said it really filled him up and held him over until dinnertime.

Our little grand daughter loves Tuna with crackers too! On two different days last week I sent the Chunk Light Tuna and the Albacore Tuna to preschool with her as part of her lunch with some crackers. Just like my hubby, she dips her crackers into them like a “snack dip” and enjoys the tuna that way. She isn’t big on sandwiches yet…but does love it as a healthy snack. I much prefer her to snack on this than potato chips any day of the week!

I buy Chicken of the Sea tuna all of the time and love it! It’s my preferred tuna brand. This was the first time we have tried the “To Go Cups” and we were very pleased with them. I will definitely be picking up more at the grocery store next week. A big 2-thumbs up on these!
