After the Storm

A few weeks ago, the family took a ride up to Yosemite National Park, just to get away for a few hours. It was a beautiful day but overcast when we left. Once we reached the lower foothills, it started to rain and then it started to pour! The skies just opened up and there was even thunder and lightening – a rarity for California. We continued into the park even though it was raining and drove around for a while.

When it was time to leave, we headed down the hill and saw the most amazing sunset. I was able to grab some pictures from that day. Here is that sunset, after the storm.

  1. Just beautiful! My favorite photos are often taken on days of less-than-perfect weather. I’d love to see Yosemite some day. Fortunately for me, I live very close to Acadia National Park, which is simply gorgeous.

One of my favorite places to visit! Love this photo!

  3. Lovely sunset! I have always wanted to go to Yosemite. Glad you stuck it out through the rain so that you could share the lovely pic.

  4. So beautiful! I agree with Robin W – print and frame it. I’ve never been to Yosemite but it is on my “bucket list.”

  5. Lovely picture. Yosemite is one National Park that I’ve never been to. Will get there some day.

The picture is absolutely stunning! Isn’t it amazing what beauty nature gives us? I even love the name…After The Storm. You should print and frame that pic. It would be a great gift!

  7. (Almost Wordless Wednesday After the Storm) Very pretty picture. The weather here in Illinois has been very nice, although I think we are behind by three weeks in the Fall foliage. The leaves should all be down by now and they are not yet.

That is so beautiful. We would love to make the trip to Yosemite but have not been able to yet. Hopefully soon.

This is a very beautiful photo of the sunset. Clouds and moisture often make the colors of a sunset or sunrise more varied and gorgeous as rays are refracted. I wouldn’t have enjoyed driving around in the rain – even in a beautiful park,
