Happy Labor Day 2013

Fireworks in the skyIt has been a lovely weekend so far. My front yard was completely cut back and cleaned up by a professional gardener and it looks so amazing! The poor thing had gotten so neglected this summer. It got really overgrown and out of control! Now everything is shaped, cut down and ready for fall. I think the plants are happy about it too!

Labor Day is here and it is a perfect time for some relaxing and enjoyment with family and friends. I woke up to an over cast morning which is always so nice! We are praying for some rain here so the firefighters can get a better handle on the Yosemite Rim Fire. As of this morning, the fire has burned 228,670 acres and it is 60% contained. Thankfully they are getting a handle on it. This is the most contained it has been since it started. This fire has been raging for almost 2 weeks now. It is very sad and quite devastating for this area. I live about 60 miles west the central portion of Yosemite. The fires were more north east of me so we did not get all of the smoke and debris as some did.
