Winners for September 19th – Teenage Dating

Good morning everyone! Happy Thursday! I am so glad that the weekend is approaching…geesh, I am really struggling through this week and I think I just need some R&R this weekend so I am going to do exactly that! I am only going to work a few hours and then take it easy the rest of the weekend.

Today’s Topic – Teenage Dating! Yes, I know it can be a touchy subject but I want to share something with you. I was 15 years old before I was allowed to date and my daughter was 16 years old before we left her date. We felt that at 15 she wasn’t quite emotionally mature enough so we made her wait. I know for most parents they base their decision on their individual child’s maturity level which I think is the right thing to do. However, We have a neighbor in our neighborhood who is allowing her almost 14 year old daughter to date! OMG…I think that is way too young! When I say “date” boys of about 18 and 19 years old come by and pick her up and take her out! Yes…folks, it is happening! Trust me, this isn’t a mature “almost” 14 year old either! Ugh! I am really disappointed about it because they seem like the type of parents who just don’t care! Their 15 yr old son runs all through the neighborhood just hanging out & getting into trouble too!

When it comes to letting teenagers date…do you have a set age for that or are you going to decide on when that will be by maturity level? How old were you when you were allowed to date or how old were your teens before they could date? Thoughts?

We had a few giveaways close late last night so we do have winners to announce this morning. As always, we spend time every morning validating entries, trashing out the cheater entries and then randomly select a winner using random.org. We then double check that persons entry to make sure it’s legit and then finalize it.

Winner of the Old El Paso Giveaway is… Alicia J.
Winner of the EatWhatEver Breath Mints Giveaway is… Kim Pinch

Congratulations to both of our lucky winners this morning! Emails will be coming your way shortly so that you can claim your prizes. Have a great Thursday!

I was 16 years old before I was allowed to date and I know that I was not mature enough, but I was cautious. I only had sons, but if I had a daughter I would wait until she was mature and make sure to have plenty of talks with her and keep her apprised of my feelings .

  2. Congrats to winners!!

I agree that I will not let my daughter date until at least 16.
