Harvest Snaps – A Healthier Alternative to Potato Chips
Harvest Snaps are a healthier alternative to potato chips. They have less fat and sodium and more fiber than chips but don’t taste like it. Add them to your football snack table, lunchbox, or just because snack stash – you won’t regret it.
It’s Football Season! And school lunch season, afterschool snack season, and healthier lunch makeover season. You know how it goes. As seasons change, the desire for change taps you on your shoulder. It does me, anyway. I need something besides sweets, nuts and fruit to snack on, especially at my desk. Salty, crunchy goodness is what I crave sometimes and only chips can fix it. I’ve tried subbing crunchy veggies with a saltier dip, but sometime only chips will do it. Baked chips and kale chips work well, but something different works better. Various vegetable chips work from time to time, but there’s something about a basic chip that’s missing. Harvest Snaps have what’s missing and then some.
Harvest Snaps are delicious bags of lentil or snap pea chips that bring a salty, crispy goodness to the table (or wherever your snack takes you). They have 40% less fat, less sodium, and more fiber than potato chips, but don’t taste like it. The folks at Harvest Snaps sent me an assorted box of crisps to try and the whole family loved them. I placed the bags on the counter and encouraged them to dig in. These snacks are winners!
If Snapea Crisps seem familiar, it’s because they are. They’ve been around a while, staring at you from the produce aisle with salad toppings or from snack aisle, usually on the top shelf. These crispy snap pea snacks come in four flavors and are yummy on salad or soup as a crouton or right from a bag or bowl. I liked the Lightly Salted, Caesar, and Black Pepper varieties equally while hubby and Teen Boy preferred the Wasabi Ranch. Lentil Snaps stole my heart from first bite. Teen Girl and I were all over the Tomato Basil and Onion Thyme lentil crisps. The flavor is deeper and chips a little heartier than the snap pea crisps. I crumbled a few Onion Thyme Lentil Snaps over a bowl of lentil stew
Harvest Snaps are keepers. Both Snapea Crisps and Lentil Snaps are on next week’s grocery list. When asked for a snack choice, both teens requested them – that’s a big deal.
