We have been having so much fun with the Good Cook Stuffed Burger Challenge. I hope you have been voting for our Stuffed MexiCali Burger over at GoodCook and entering yourself to win One of 10 stuffed burger kits! The folks over at Good Cook wanted us to throw some more delicious ideas your way so they decided things are better with Bacon! What better way to dress up your burgers or enjoy your favorite foods than with Bacon!

Good Cook was so gracious to send over an awesome Bacon Press for me to check out and create a recipe using the press and the awesome cast iron grill pan that we were sent in the burger stuffing kit. I love cooking with cast iron and have for so many years. I have had my a few of my fry pans for well over 30 years and still love using them. They make the best burgers! You get all of the crusty fried goodness that really seals in the moisture! Yum!
This Grill Press is fantastic. I love that it has ridges. Those will line up with the grill pan so you get crusty, crunchy bacon all the way through but it also works well on a flat top grill or pan as well. So delicious! I cannot stand limp bacon at all. Because this press is cast iron, it has a wonderful weight and it is easy to care for. The handle is large, stainless steel and riveted on so this will not be breaking any time soon. Plus the times I have used this, the handle did not get hot, although a hot pad should be available, just in case. And you can even use this press for warming your sandwiches on a grill like a panini press too! This have been getting a work out at my house!

So I was thinking about the way I love to enjoy my bacon best and how to create a recipe using my favorite foods with it. One of my favorite ways to eat bacon is alone or in a sandwich. That is novel, I know, but adding something to that was where my challenge came in. So I was at the butcher the other day and came across something called Kentucky Bacon and I knew I had to use that in this recipe. It looked so good! So here is my creation. Hope you like it.
Crispy Bacon and Egg Sandwich with Garlic and Herb Cheese Recipe
Ingredients:
1 English Muffin- toasted
1 Fried Egg
2 Strips of Bacon – Kentucky Bacon is amazing
1 TBSP Soft Spreadable Cheese with Garlic and Herbs
Directions:
Using a bacon press and cast iron grill pan, fry the bacon until crispy or to your desired level of enjoyment. Fry the egg, toast the muffin. Once the muffin has come out of the toaster, spread the cheese on the top and bottom piece. Layer on bacon, egg then bacon. Add the top muffin piece and enjoy!

I didn’t know anything about a bacon press before, but I do love bacon. I’m a true, natural bacon lover. It’s good on sandwiches, burgers, and plain, but I’m not interested in bacon donuts or cookies. They could be good, but I like to taste my bacon without sweets. This looks – and sounds – really good. Enjoy many more creations with your new press and grill pan.
That looks delicious! I’ve never heard of a bacon press, but now I want to try one!
Thanks for your support, ladies. Not only does it look good, it was delicious and very filling too!
I have never seen a bacon press before and it looks like a great idea. Kentucky bacon also looks interesting – with more meat in it. I love all the items in your sandwich. I have been voting too.
I haven’t seen one of those since my dad owned a little diner years ago! Very good sandwich there. I have been voting 3x a day since that contest opened. Fun!
You put MY favorite things on that sandwich! I voted for you again.
Oh wow – I have never seen a Bacon Press before. I know a lot of friends who would love this as a gift.
I will try this sandwich but I think the bacon press looks like too much work for too little. IDK maybe some day I will have the time to use a bacon press.
That sandwich looks and sounds delicious. I will have to give that recipe a try!
I want to come to dinner at your house! That sounds and looks so good.
