Spicy Tomato and Chile Pepper Salsa Recipe

August 7, 2013 by Shelly

Delicious Salsa
Delicious Salsa

A few weeks ago we had some family and friends over to our home for a backyard barbecue and for our little get-together I whipped up some tasty tomato & chile pepper salsa to go along with our tortilla chips.

This salsa does have a little heat to it…but nothing overly spicy. If you want to make it even more mild…just reduce the amount of chile peppers you add to the recipe. This salsa can be used as a tortilla chip dip or you can whip it up and use it as a chicken marinade…it makes great tasting grilled chicken too!

Tomato and Chile Pepper Salsa Recipe

28 oz. can diced tomatoes
1/3 cup green Chile peppers, finely chopped
1/4 cup onions, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

In a large mixing bowl combine together all of the above ingredients in the order they are given in the recipe until well combined. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 2 to 6 hours to allow the flavors to infuse. Remove and serve chilled with your favorite snacks.

Now this is what I call good! Tasty, quick, and EASY to make. I like just this amount of heat, and I’m fixing it today. Thank yu so much, I love salsa as a side, with just about anything!

What a refreshing side dish! Though I would probably have to make 2 batches (I need mild!) I would definitely make this! I would love it mixed in with some corn or as topping on grilled chicken or pork as well.

I love recipes that have more than one purpose such as this one: salsa, dip or marinade. We should love them all.
