How To Make Homemade Playdough
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 cups of tap water
4 tablespoons vegetable cooking oil
Food Coloring
In a large sauce pot, combine together the flour, salt, cream of tartar, water and vegetable oil. Heat this mixture over medium heat, stirring often until the mixture pulls away from the edge of the pan and becomes the consistency of dough. Remove from heat and cool your dough on a sheet of waxed paper. When it’s cool enough to handle, separate the dough into smaller balls. Place gloves on your hands and mix in the food coloring by kneading the dough. Once the coloring is mixed in, you can remove your gloves. Store dough in airtight storage bags.
How To Make Homemade Finger Paints
2 cups of Plastic Liquid Starch
1 cup of Ivory Snow Detergent Flakes
Food Coloring
In a large mixing bowl and using an electric mixer, combine together the plastic liquid starch and the detergent flakes. You will want to mix this until the volume has tripled in size. Pour mixture into 4 small plastic containers and squirt in 2-4 drops of food coloring into each container. Use a toothpick or wooden skewer to stir liquid to blend in the color. This homemade finger paint will need to be stored in airtight containers in the refrigerator when not in use.
