Healing Through Movement with Zayna Gold Exercise DVD

August 21, 2013 by Classystaff

I was able to review Zayna Gold’s “Healing Through Movement: Pilates Head to Toe” exercise DVD. This DVD is designed for those with Crohn’s & Colitis, Celiac, IBS, and other digestive disorders. I enjoyed this DVD for its simplicity and flexibility, which allows it to successful for anyone at any fitness level.

Healing Through Movement: Pilates Head to Toe begins with Cycle 1, working the upper body only, which is great for those who must be sitting throughout a workout. Even though sitting, the movements workout and properly develop the core for the user. I really liked Zayna Gold’s direction. She describes the exercise well, and explains proper form very well. This workout is for keeping the bones strong.

I enjoyed the Cycle 2, the lower body section, the most, since it is my personal goal region for improvement. I liked how (depending your health and on the levels of comfort) modifications were always available. Even though the movements were decently simple for me, I could feel the effectiveness of the workout greatly. This workout helps maintain muscle mass and promotes bone safety.

Cycle 3, according to Gold, is considered the challenge stage. It is a full body workout (with of course, modifications if needed). It was awesome how energized and lively this workout made me feel after! I certainly had my heart pumping and a little sweat going. This workout supports bone density and muscle tone.

Lastly, came the core workout, which took place lying down on a mat. Alternatives were available if necessary, due to some may have discomfort in their abdomen. Zayna emphasizes the importance of not doing a workout if it ever gives discomfort. She always encouraged the alternative. I loved her enthusiasm; it was able to drive my motivation further throughout the entire DVD.

Zayna Gold is the founder and co-owner of Boston Body Pilates and Boston Body Barre with five locations in the Boston area. She is the creator of the Balanced Body Barre training program. She travels the world to instruct other Pilates professionals in the Balanced Body Barre education program. Zayna is certified by Stott Pilates and Power Pilates and is faculty for Balanced Body Education, Anatomy in 3-D, and Boston Body Barre. She has been seen on TV and is a contributor to national newspapers and magazines.

Using Zayna Gold’s “Healing Through Movement: Pilates Head to Toe”, I have noticed an improvement in my balance, back pain decreased, and my digestive system is more on track. With “Healing Through Movement”, there is an assistance to those in pain.Ruby Tag
