Good morning everyone! Happy Thursday…we are all getting closer to the weekend! Summer just flew by this year and many kids are heading back to school early next month. Most kids here in our area don’t go back to school until the end of August which is great for us…we get more summer time with Princess Gia who will be entering her last year of preschool.
4 out of 5 days a week we pack the Princess’ lunches for school because it’s cheaper and it’s healthier. Her preschool charges $4.35 per day for lunch with a beverage! Oh my!!! If she wants anything extra like a little ice cream or snack, it’s an additional $1.15 for each snack. Blah! Now you can see why we pack her lunches and my daughter & I are really picky on what we pack for her. We try to always pack a well-balanced and healthy lunch for her. Princess isn’t picky when it comes to food so it works well for us.
How many of you pack your kid’s school lunches? For those of you who let your kids get lunch at school how much is that lunch per day? Is it a decent lunch or totally crappy? Does your kid prefer to pack lunch or buy lunch at school?
We had a few giveaways close late last night so we do have winners to announce this morning. As always, we spend time every morning validating entries, trashing out the cheater entries and then randomly select a winner using random.org. I can’t believe that in some areas school is starting next week. Even here in the northeast school starts a little earlier each year. When my children started school it was still right after Labor Day which was the pattern when I went to school too. I always packed lunch for my sons because I thought it would be a healthier choice.
