Back in January of this year we moved into our new house and since that time my husband has been wanting a home safe…but not just any old safe! As a family with investments in stocks and real estate, we felt it was important to protect all of our financial documents, passports, high-end jewelry, birth records and more in case of a fire.
Well, today I want to introduce you to SentrySafe who is a leader in business safes, home safes, gun safes, auto safes and well…just about any type of safe you would need. What we really love about this company is that you register your safe and in the future if you need a new key, a new combination, replacement parts or any other type of help, they can help you quickly & easily.
For the review the company sent us the SentrySafe Combination Fire Safe (SFW123CS) to evaluate for all of you. This safe is designed to protect documents, digital media and other valuables from fire, water and theft. It’s a great safe to use for your small business or in your own home.
The Safe’s Features:
* Advanced fire protection – UL Classified for Fire Endurance (1 hour at 1700 degrees F or 927 degrees C), to protect documents, records, and valuables stored inside from fire damage.
* 4 large 1-inch bolts – 60% bigger than traditional safes.
* Pry resistant hinge bar helps provide additional protection from forced entry.
* ETL Verified to pass a 15 foot/4.5 meter drop test to ensure contents remain intact and locked upon impact.
* ETL Verified for 1 hour fire protection of CDs, DVDs, Memory Sticks and USB Drives up to 1700 degrees F/927 degrees C to protect precious media in the event of a fire.
* ETL Verified water resistance up to 8 inches for 24 hours.
* Mechanical combination lock.

Our Thoughts: Wow…where do I begin with this one! The safe is a lot larger than we expected (which is a good thing) and is the perfect size for a home owner, like ourselves. The safe is pretty heavy so you will need 2 people to unpack it or to move it into the room you prefer (or one person with a dolly). We decided to put our safe in our home office and once we read over the paperwork, we were ready to get it set up.
The safe has an adjustable shelf and you can set that shelf up to your own preference and needs. The inside portion on the safe’s door has a key rack, door tray and a small pocket for items you may need to get out quickly (we keep our birth records & passports in it). If you don’t want to put keys on the key rack…you can certainly hang jewelry on them too (I put my genuine pearls on the key rack for safe keeping).
The safe is plenty big enough to hold all of our financial records, emergency cash, passports, birth records, death records, life insurance policies, hubby’s coin collection, my jewels, our gun and other items we feel that are important and need to be kept secured.
It comes fully assembled, so you don’t need to do anything to it…other than read your manual (paperwork) and set it up. This took us about 10 minutes if that! It also comes with a registration card and we highly recommend you fill that out and mail it back to the company.
We are VERY impressed with this fireproof safe from SentrySafe and would not hesitate in purchasing one to give as a gift (perhaps daughter’s upcoming wedding). It is extremely well-made and they have thought of every feature you would ever need in a home safe! (love the adjustable shelf, key rack, door pocket, etc.). Fantastic product and hubby couldn’t be happier with it!
