TwinLab CleanSeries Sport Proteins

July 20, 2013 by Classystaff

My son has been on a swim team since he learned to swim. It is a fantastic sport and he enjoys it more and more each year. He has tried all of the other sports that a kid does like soccer, baseball and football and never really enjoyed them as much as he does while swimming. We have been looking for ways to help him improve his times this year and his stamina is really taking a beating. With all of the questionable protein drinks for athletes out there, I was just not sure what to give him to try especially since he is still growing. Thankfully, our need was answered with some new products from a trusted source and we were pleased to try one out for review..

Twinlab Corporation, the trusted name in sports nutrition innovation for more than four decades, has launched a new line called CleanSeries Sport Proteins. They are the first line of sports supplements to be able to claim the following:
Twinlabs Sport Protein
Independently certified by the NSF® International product certification program to verify products meet nutrient label claims

* Non-GMO tested by an independent third-party lab using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing for genetically modified DNA to a limit of 0.9%
* Batch tested by HFL for banned substances in accordance with HFL’s Informed Choice and Informed Sport programs

The CleanSeries™ line met with enthusiastic response when introduced at the Natural Products Expo in March, garnering a nomination for the prestigious NEXTy, an award given to key influencers in natural products who are deemed to be instrumental in bringing innovation and strong leadership to the industry. Sport Protein powder
My son was sent the Original Sport Protein to try out. When he saw it was a powder, he was nervous about trying it. But good ol’ mom convinced him that regardless of the taste, it would benefit him in the long run. We have a small juice blender that is perfect for blending the powder drink. It simply mixes with water and ice, if you want it thicker. The first sip is the hardest and the grimace was hilarious, but it went down the hatch and off to practice he went.

Over the next few days, he was very diligent in preparing his shake about 30-45 minutes before leaving for practice. While he said the vanilla taste is nasty, he did say he is getting used to it. He is very pleased overall as he is not feeling as exhausted during or after practice and during the day. He actually said he feels good and a lot more energized. He feels so much better now that he has been taking this product! He said that he will definitely continue to take this protein powder! The 23gr of protein is definitely a plus and he really needed that in his diet. TwinLabs has the Pre-Workout Activator that I think will be next on his supplement list to help him before his tournaments and meets.

As a mom, I am thrilled that this is a healthy product that he can take with no gluten and no nasty products that are bad for you. I feel great that he is seeing the benefit from this product and willingly gets up to make his shake before he leaves. Kudos to Twinlabs! I am excited for my son and cannot wait to see him doing better on his times in swimming and having more energy overall. Now maybe he chores will get done quicker… Well, we can always dream!

On behalf of Twinlab – I would like to suggest trying a few different ways to prepare his shake that may make the test better!

    – almond milk (super healthy for you, low calories and high in protein) can make it creamy and rich
    – milk (whole, low fat or skim)
    – handful of his favorite fruit

If you’d like some more ideas to incorporate this into his diet, be sure to follow us on Facebook as we intent to start publishing new and unique recipes as time goes on.

Thank you for the terrific review!

I have only used the protein powder from Trader Joes. I’m not sure any of them have an ‘awesome’ taste. Thanks for the review.

Twinlabs is a very good brand and they have come up with a clever name “Clean Series” to promote this new product. This looks like a great selection of protein powders for all kinds of athletes.

I have used Twinlab products in the past. They are a good company with terrific products. They seem to have a nice selection of protein powders to choose from.
